Hi sweetride01

Thanks for the information. I'd be interested to know whether you can utilize both internal (if available) and external GPS or whether you have to use internal GPS if phone so equipped. When I used upgrade with Mobile 7 on N95 it would no longer connect to an external BT GPS and would only use the internal GPS.

Wow, I didn't know you couldn't use the external receiver with Mobile 7. I have the LD-3W receiver so I want to be able to use it...
Maybe I will contact them to see if this is possible.
I hope that Mobile 8 still allows you to pre-plan your route on the PC and upload to your phone...

What does this imply:

"Transfer more maps from the sales pack DVD. Just purchase a usage license key online using your phone and you can access even more maps and location-based information" ???

Are they saying you don't even get all the maps for 120 Euros?

Hi sweetride01

I don't know whether Route 66 Europe means Western Europe or whether they mean EU countries in Europe although contents of DVD will fit on a 2Gb memory card.

On the point of internal/external GPS. Looking at the specs on the official page I noticed this comment:

You must have a PC with a USB port, a memory card (>= 2 GB) and a (Bluetooth or built-in) GPS receiver to use this product.

So things look good for those wanting to use an external device.

Re: RT66 Mobile 8 now out! :-)

it is mainly the same program installed already on nokiam 6110 navigator (called there "nokia navigator"), but with same revisionnumbers, and all pictures on the side for route 66 mobile 8 were simply taken from the nokia 6110 navigator.
therefore i can say: for 129 euro you get the program with one map "western europe with nordics" (that includes 22 countries, fits on a 2gb card, and is from q2 2007, navteq).

if you want other maps, for example the maps "baltics and greece", then you have to pay again, most of those cards cost 49 euro each. an overview on maps available for nokia 6110 navigator is here: https://secure.66.com/store/ , so I guess those maps will also all be available to download and install on route 66 mobile 8 for other phones. prices are also listened there.
