For all the people that are "Blocked Out" by Region Codes, Branded N97s or FW heres the link to get the SIS file: OVI Maps 3.03

NOTE:

  • It should work on all FW versions
  • Leave atleast 9Mb in C drive
  • Uninstall all previous versions
  • Check if OVI Maps support your country.

Enjoy,

Many thanks fella. All maps now working, very much appreciated. Although it did make me laugh, (after a lot of crying) all the duff gen I had received before your post. All the other links previous to yours did not work. Don't suppose you work for Nokia.....apply today and teach them a thing or two!

Re: Ovi Maps 3.03 (with Free Navigation) for the N97

Anyone else managed to get new maps? It's not showing in my SW Update and this will only check for new versions once a day. Anyone know how to force SWupdate to check for new software? Also waiting for fw V21 to show but nothing yet. Very frustrating.

you'll be lucky on 0585262.

vodafone UK are somewhat lax on these things.

using the old pc suite (v 7.1.40.1) it's told me my UK vodafone n97 handset has update (current version 20.0.019) 21.0.0.45.  Just installed it too.  Oh and i got the ovi maps program on my handset via the phone's software updater over a week ago.

Re: What about the maps turn by turn navigation for the N900?

I cannot get maps to download on my N900. On the site it says you must use the Mass Storage mode, but then the Maps Dowload application asks you to reconnect on PC Suite mode. When you do it gets stuck "waiting for phone".Sowe are stuck in a stupid loop which I think was done on purpose, since Nokia does not seem to support maps on the N900.

I think Nokia should tell us to dump the N900 - we paid too much for it not to be "currently on the roadmap".

Re: Ovi Maps 3.03 (with Free Navigation) for the N97

Many thanks for this information on the sis file for maps.  My N97 refused to do any in-phone sw updates and this has fixed it.  It appears to be working fine at this stage.  Your help is very much appreciated.

Cheers

I loaded it ages ago, using the N97 mini route. Works perfectly - in fact - it's lush
