Does anybody know is there any way you can delete just a specific country from your phone not just all maps in Ovi maps?

Nokia Map Loader only has the option to delete all maps. It isn't actually such a bad thing because map data can be updated up to 4 times a year. Deleting everything and then only re-downloading what you need egularly is a good way of ensuring that you have the latest map version.

But sometimes you need just one country updated (updating takes some time) and you have to delete all and reload it all. I think this isn't the best solution and it could be done much better. As I remember an earlier versions of nokia pc suite have had that option, I don't know why step back.

YOu don't need to delete before you update. Just re-download the country/region you want to update. You will be asked if you want to overwrite and just say yes.

Deleting one or more maps that are no longer needed can help free up memory for other maps or files. Is there no way to do this?

Try version of OVI Suite available from Nokia Beta Labs (sign in with Nokia ID & password) here:

http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/nokia-ovi-suite-3-0-beta as this version now has this feature to delete maps.

i downloaded map of ontario how do i delete it as i cannot use ireland the way i used to

Downloading additional map data should not affect previous map data unless you accidentally deleted them. What phone are you using and what version of Nokia Maps are you running on it?

If you have Ovi Maps v3.06 or later on a Symbain S^3 device you can go to Settings (cogs) > Extras > Map loader > longpress on selected map until option to delete appears.

If you are using other devices then Ovi Suite v3.1.1.90 needed, click on arrow pointing upwards over phone icon bottom left of screen so it turns downwards and then click on "Maps and voice guidance which reveals what content is installed with option to delete at right of screen.

i have Ovi Suite v3.1.1.90 installed. Using N78.. Pointing up, I see my installed maps on right. BUT how to delete?? I see no choice??

Refer the attachment..Though the Screen shot is for the Beta version of Nokia Suite.. similar option should be available in the OVI Suite that you are using...

You are absolutely right farby. This procedure can be done in Nokia OVI Suite version 3.1.1.90 as in the new version Nokia Suite 3.2.100

1) install Nokia Ovi Suite 3.3.86

2) connect phone via USB to PC and run Suite and choose MAPS

3) in left down corner found link "On phone XXX Maps and voice guidance" - click on it

4) now in right side indicated all installed maps and voices - you see in right side of line button "delete"

5) use this button(s) and be happy :-)

Found a way to do it with Belle!  On your phone, go into nokia maps.  Go to Map Loader and you'll see a list of maps.  Touch the map you want to delete and hold your finger on the map name until you see the delete message.  Delete the map.
