Nokia E71x. 8gb micro card installed. Nokia Maps updater V1.0.8. Windows XP pro SP3.
Program launches. Recognizes Phone. When "checking for updates" the "cancel" button is active. When 5.33 MB update page splashes neither the cancel or download button are active.
I have roamed the forum and tried the following suggestions
a. Use Tab key to navigate - doesn't work
b. change font size on page - doesn't work
c, launch program at 640x800 resolution-doesn't work
d. launch program in Win 2000 compatibility mode - doesn't work
Are there any other suggestions? Can I manually update the maps. Can I get the phone to update the maps on a wifi connection?
Any help appreciated.

I have this exact same problem, and it's a complete joke.
I knew 14 year olds that could make working buttons in Visual Basic at school, what kind of morons do Nokia employ?
Every time I think Nokia have sorted something out, or got it working, they seem to be compelled to screw it up again.
The E71 is so close to being perfect, but has so many little flaws.
It's like they have a new car on the forecourt and can't resist kicking a wing mirror off every time it's ready to go.
What a shame.

My download button worked after I temporarily switched my fonts down to normal size (down from 120) in the display options. I have a 1080p screen, so understandably use large fonts.
The only program I have ever tried to use that found this font size to be a problem was a £5 learn guitar CD from Tescos.
Clearly this is the calibre of software programming Nokia choose to associate themselves with.

I've had the same problem, and fortunately found the solution in this thread (thanks, alexjholland).
Really, bad programming on behalf of Nokia...

Hi,
I had problems with Nokia Pc Suite, therefore I tried to switch to the Ovi Suite. Up to now I was able to do everything on my Nokia E52: updating, sync, and Map update/downloads. Up to now all is working fine...
How about to use Ovi Suite for Maps Updating?
