hi... it's me again with a different problem...
these past few days, whenever i tried to open Maps, there's always this "message" popped up, saying : please disconnect USB to use Maps.
i can understand if this "message" popped up when my C7 was connected via USB to my PC. but this also popped up when it was not connected via USB.
what should i do so i can use Maps again ? the last time this happened, i had to *#7370# the phone...

@SeiYuusha
Firstly, just to clarify are you using Ovi Maps v3.06 with Anna upgrade upon your C7?
Secondly, is map data installed upon either E:\ Mass memory or F:\Memory card?

Hello,
I was having the exact same problem, and it was driving me crazy.
(After upgrade to 3.08, Maps would tell me "Please disconnect USB to use Maps" every time, even when it wasn't connected)
But I've managed to figure out a fix, so here goes:
I hope this helps other people who stumble across this issue as well!

Thanks to Shrik for this very nice solution...
I had to follow step 4 to 11... !!! Including a reboot of my PC (while NokiaC7-00 connected)
to convert the bad bad "lock-maps" content into a deleteable file ...
!!!
However.... i did this some weeks ago (2+ weeks) and yesterday i discovered the same prob. again when starting OVi Maps ....

So, i did this nice procedure again..... and luckiliy it worked again..... (convert and remove lock_maps) but, i'm not convident for the future: i don't wanna end up doing this procedure each month.......
Besides, since i have some little knowledge of computers/mobiles ans their filesystems it was very easy for me to solve this issue, however i can imagine that an "average user' could have lot's of issues following these steps.....
So, my polite shout to Nokia is: PLEASE FIX THIS BAD FILE SYSTEM HABIT! ....
PLEASE, PRETTY PRETTY PLEASE!!!!
Kind Regards,
B.

Many thanks for the tip on renaming the offending file - it works a treat with minimum hassle.
This is however the second time this action has been required in about 3 weeks.
I suspect problem caused after connecting to Nokia Suite to check for updates.
