Hi,
Recently made the switch from N97 to E7. One of the problems (or lack of feature) which is hurting me is as follows:
- In N97 we had the option of adding a favourite location by going to the location applications and create a new favourite by specifying the latitude/longitude values.
- These values were picked up by the Ovi Map on the mobile while selecting destination.
- This was a very convenient feature where I could go an pick up the lat/long values from any online map and get driving directions from the Ovi Map.
- The E7 doesn't seem to be having this feature, neither the Location icon is present in the applications menu.
- The only way to add a favourite to maps is by actually being present at the location or by typing in an address which the Ovi Map recognizes. There is no way to add an unknown (to Ovi Maps) location to favourites and get driving directions for the same.
Am I missing something or did Nokia deliberately pulled out this feature or just missed it?
Thanks,
Debashis

Regrettably general "dumbing down", removal/reduction of flexibility of operation, user options and control is now evidently considered to be forward progress at Nokia.

You can also use Ovi/Nokia maps online and select/create favourites or map out routes and then sync your phone when opening and closing the maps application, favourites or routes set up on the web, then show up in the phone application ?
Go to http://maps.nokia.com/ and sign in with your ovi login and password as you do here !!
