[xm5800]

My firmware version is 31.2.101.

I 've downloaded and updated the map. 

When I click map and my position it is showing a blank screen. It is not showing the map.

I 've uninstall and install it couple of times.

Am I missing anything? Is there any fix for this?

Hi Arun,

Have you downloaded any maps to your phone since you installed the new version?  If you had an older version of Maps (e.g. 2.0) you need to delete old maps and get new versions.

You can do this via PC/Ovi Suite or over the air.

just download nokia map loader and download the maps....then it ll show...

Hi hgohel

I have uninstall and install it couple of times.

I used pc suite. Then I tried to download directly on the mobile. 

I have reboot the mobile to the factory setting and again try to install again. Nothing worked.

I am not sure what I am missing.  The installation says it is successful.

Then when I click  maps and then my position it is showing blank screen and the altitude on the top of the screen.

Arun,

When you say you installed/unistalled several times, I think you are talking about the application.  What I (and another poster) are suggesting is that you delete your existing map (content).  You need to download new map data and do this from your PC if it's not working over the air.  Do you have Nokia Map Loader v3.0 on your computer?

hey arun does voice navigation works for ur 5800?? cause my voice guidance is not workin..even tough its showin proper way to the destination but no voice guidance...

Hey Deeraj,

Voice guidance works for me. You can download voice guidance from map downloader, there are two tabs on the map downloader. One for map and another one for voice.

no yar i tried every thin now m **bleep** of...i uninstalled ivi maps..installed again..instaleed all the maps again also the voice guidance but still not workin..

hi everebody.i was using nokia maps on my nokia 5800 xpress music since long time. now i started update for maps and by mistake i touched exit download.now the problem is that, now it the map is not showing any thing.just blank. i have also un installed and again installed.but no change.can any body help
please.

In Maps go to 'Update'.. Does it show any country listed ? Most probably not..and you need to download Maps data either directly from the phone thru' WiFi or thru' Nokia Suite.

You may need to delete E:\cities + .qf file, then re-start Ovi Maps application upon device to re-initialise application and re-create necessary folder structure to carry out further instructions posted by farby for re-installation of regional mapping.

i had nokia maps downloaded on my 5800 they were  working properly.

but couple of days earlier, i touched update option in maps, and in between the uptation, i cancelled it. and after that i opened map, it is not showing any thing except a red dot.

now the situation is that, i have hard formated the phone, again installed and downloaded maps through nokia pc suite .. but the condition of maps is the same. no map is seen.only the red dot.

please help me. i need this maps deadly coz my job is like that, i need to roam in to new places in new cities.

Does red dot have thin white ring with black outer ring to confirm locked on to position?

What puzzles me is that if Ovi Maps set "Online" with WLAN as Priority 1 in Destinations > Internet and you zoom in to position it would drag down map data even if there was none upon device.

no mate.. its not like what u are describing. its normal red dot what we get when we are seeing normal map.

but locations and every thing is not able to see.red dot on plain.but it is showing location co-ordinates correctly.only map is not shown.

it is not in online mode.the settings are same as they were before when i used to use maps perfectly. i remember correctly.

any other possibility?

Connect the phone to PC.. Open the Nokia Suite -->Maps and then click to check the Maps / Navigation files installed on phone in the lower window. Does it show any list ? Most probably the Maps are erased and needs reinstall..

problem solved.

what i had done actually is , first i hard reset the phone.then updated maps , downlaoded maps and voice guidance form pc suite.

then also there was no change.

i then un installed every thing related to maps in my installed apps list , then again hard reset

and again updated , downloaded maps from pc suit

now also it was not working

so what i did is , i sat in car, opened the maps while in motion.now it was showing every thing.

any way thanks for your advices too.
