Everytime I want to start maps ( nokia_maps_3.01_09wk44_b01_s60_3.1_lm_rom.sis) I get a system error and the program is terminated.

I've located the new installer file (nokia_maps_3.01_09wk44_b01_s60_3.2_lm_rom.SIS) but it won't install.  (Unable to open.  File type not supported.)

I did  format the phone, and delete the cities folder and qf file... still won't install.

From the sounds of it you are copying the file to the phone and then browsing the phone file directory to install? You don't use Ovi Suite or Nokia PC Suite to install it? If you can rename files on the phone directly.. try renaming the .SIS extension to .SISX

That file is corrupted. Until Nokia replaces the file with a valid one, you have to use an installer meant for previous generation devices, like this one:

Expect some difficulties when syncing landmarks and routes to Ovi, though.

Hi.same issues.tried several files from this site.they are all the same.No matter if I change from sis to sisx .Same error .Deleted the Cities folder a QF. Done hard reset you name it.Nothing helps.Stuck with version 2.0.Hope Nokia will look in to this .

I leared from an another post that the file I linked above might be corrupted too. Sorry for that.

Why file

I call  many time to Nokia Care (Poland) about a problem with application maps updater ( topic /t5/Maps-Navigation-and-GPS/Nokia-6650-fold-Error-Cannot-get-enough-information-about-the/m-p/681516... , 1,634 views  and  no working solution) . They send two file:

- nokia_maps_3.01_09wk44_b01_s60_3.2_lm_rom.SIS (corrupted)

 - nokia_maps_3.01_09wk44_b01_s60_3.1_lm_rom.sis ( I get a system error and the program is terminated).

Now I know that Ovi Maps 3.01 working on my phone (file from  http://rapidshare.com/files/400267135/nokia_maps_3.01_09wk44_b01_s60_3.2_lm_rom.SIS.html )but must buy licence, why ?!
