If you ever wondered why you can't install Maps for E75 using the file nokia_maps_3.01_09wk44_b01_s60_3.2_lm_rom.SIS, which is distributed at: Nokia Europe - Maps - Compatibility & download page, it's because the file is seriously corrupted.
According to SymbianOSv9.x SIS File Format Specification, the first 4 bytes of a SIS file must always be 0x10201A7A. Surprisingly this particular file starts with 0x0055E805 and contains 161 bytes of random data in front of a byte sequence that appears to be the correct identification header. Way to go Nokia! Who knows what else is broken in that file?
So could you please find the person(s) who broke that file & put it online and hang them high? Preferrably from some sensitive body parts. Then fix the damn file, and fix the Maps Updater, too. Ok?
Thank You.

I have contacted Nokia Care on this, but they haven't answered yet. I know, however, that Nokia Staff read these forums even they don't answer. So the last part of my post is just an opinion of a non-happy customer.

Hi
Tanks for the orig. post. I hit my head to stone wall trying to get the new map installed. With this message I realised I had same problem.
After some mail discuss with Nokia I got direct link to a working install file
http://static.s2g.gate5.de/nokiamaps-client/nokia_
That worked for me.
I informed them that the support page gives a different file nokia_maps_3.01_09wk44_b01_s60_3.2_lm_rom.SIS that is not working. They promised to look in to it.

I wrote to Nokia Care about a broken link on the Maps page once, and although it took three months for them to email me back (they apologised!) it was fixed up in the interim. So the Maps people are probably looking at it.
Hi,
We have noticed a problem with the install files and the Web Team have been informed.
We are looking to have the installation file working as soon as possible.
