Cannot download maps for Thailand OR Voice Navigation in English for Driving or Walking. Have reformatted Phone Have restored factory settings Have reinstalled Maps 3.03 (direct on phone via Software Update) Each time I connect to Maps via Ovi Suite I am told that : "Your Computer is not connected to the Internet" I have tried this with both my Firewall on and off. When I try using Nokia Map Loader I am told : "Error While Downloading Catalogue for N97" When I try and download the Voices from the Phone (Via GPRS or WiFi) it times out after about 10 minutes. I have been working on this for 2 days solid now without success so can I get an definitive answer .. 1 : Are we no longer able to download maps via the PC, instead downloading "on the fly" and caching? 2 : What has happened to voice? Come on Nokia, reading all the forum it seems that I am not the only one with this problem so when will you fix it????

As this is not Nokia but a users forum in reality you are just ... in the wind .

RTFM

Nokia Support Discussions is a global meeting place for Nokia product owners. Here you can discuss Nokia products and Ovi services, ask for assistance from other Nokia users and help others by providing solutions.

This is a peer-to-peer support forum, and Nokia does not provide direct customer support via these boards.

If you wish to get personal assistance from Nokia customer support by phone or email, please visit the "Contact Us" section of your local Nokia website.

ITS A USERS FORUM AND YOU MAY  GET HELP ASKING A QUESTION  from phone users .

Its a wasted effor moaning at your fellow phone users and not bothering to contact Nokia with your problems .

The maps drive is your memory card. Have you tried formatting that?

Also, dependent upon your AV, turning AV and firewall off may not let the maps loader work. BitDefender for example does that and you need to manually add ovi suite to list of allowed programs on BD. And next time, dont right in a block of text. If you did not post this multiple times I would just skip answering your post. It hurts the eyes.

Re: I hate this site as much as I hate Ovi Maps

I am having EXACTLY the same problem.  I have a Nokia 5800 with the latest firmware and OVI maps.  I have tried to download the US voice from the phone, from OVI suite and from PC Suite Download Maps.  They all failed in different ways.  The phone just failed as soon as the Downloading message appeared.  The OVI suite had no entries under VOICE, and the PC Suite said I was not connected to the internet.  I just got my phone and certainly do not hate it, but it looks like the messages on here are pretty hateful to people who are just trying to make their new phones work. By the way....  The spell check THINKS that OVI is a spelling mistake.:smileyvery-happy:

No mate its the attitude of some posters who rant against other users not Nokia employees   just users same as you .

The voices  if you search recent posts might be due to a server problem as something has already been posted  re the servers .

As far as I can see there is always a chance to go local

official Nokia store and politely ask for help. They will be

glad to help you.
