Please can someone answer the questions below i have an X6 16gb

with the latest maps 3.03.

Do you need an internet connection for sat nav to work?

Is there any data charges? i am on Orange

How does the gps work?

1. You need connection if you will use A-GPS and Network based positioning. If you deactivate both and rely only on integrated GPS, it will take longer to get a fix but its totally free

2. How does GPS work (pretty vague question) - well GPS works by receiving signals from 3-4 US military made satellites which allows the phone to triangulate your position. It could be seen in raw data form in Menu>Apps>Location>GPS Data>Position, or in graphic form on a map via the My Location option in Ovi Maps.

How do io deactivate A-GPS and Network based positioning so i can just use the integrated GPS?

Menu>Apps>Location>Positioning>Positioning Methods

Untick everything except Integrated GPS. Also set your Ovi maps to work offline.

hi guys, hope you are well.

i have an N900, and nokia havent released ovi maps with turn by turn sat nav for it, which is very annoying....does the X6 have the proper ovi maps turn by turn sat nav  a la symbian phones?
