I have a Nokia 5800xm, I use ovi maps mostly off-line but every time I search or turn ovi maps on it keeps asking me for a connection ??????????????? 

can someone please help me, its very annoying

Have u tried setting the "Connection" to "Offline" in Maps>Options>Settings>Internet ??

How about turning off A-GPS and Network positioning?

Hi seanbhy

Confusing it maybe but two processes involved, OVI Maps and Positioning server. Go to Menu > Applications > Location > Positioning > Positioning server > Positioning server use and select one of the four available options to choice.

Thank you for the reply but if I do that I was wondering how long it takes to get a satellite signal ?

For the first time ever?

1. With A-GPS offit can take an hour or more. With it off I can usually have a signal in anywhere between 1min-20min, and there are times when I just wont get a signal.

2. With A-GPS on I get it in less than 1min.
