6270 Classic Navigation Overseas

I have a 6270 Classic and I can successfully use GPS navigation in Sydney. I have loaded maps for Hong Kong on to the phone, and updated the phone software to the latest version as recommended by Ovi software. When in Hong Kong the phone fails to get a GPS lock despite being left to try for in excess of 30 mins. I have tried setting with and without AGPS, with and without network access.

Any ideas as to what could be the problem?

Cheers

Hi yemio

Many GPS devices have a limitation in Hong Kong due to the large number of tall buildings, which can limit the signal strength, consequently I would expect Assisted GPS feature to be very necessary; have you checked access point for positioning server if using different SIM in HK.

Unfortunately I can't tell you whether this is found under GPS in Applications on your device.

Hi I use a 6720 Classic for navigation when I go overseas, but I also use a bluetooth GPS to boost GPS reception, Nokia LD-3W.  It works really well, fast fix.  I have tried no A-GPS, and no Bluetooth GPS when I am at home but it is way too slow to get a fix, especially in the Car.
