i'm not sure if this is actually possible, but hey in this world of today, what's not ?
Would there be a way for me to somehow import data from our national traffic site:
http://www.promet.si/portal/en/1traffic-conditions
so that my Nokia 5800 could actutally take all the closed and cloged up streets into account and produce an optimal and best rout to the desired destination?
How would you do it?
Thank you so much for your comments and help.

I would like to ask you something else, since no one is replying to my previous question.
I can update my traffic situation but i can't see any difference. I know there is a closed road quite near me and has been so for like 3 months, but i can't see anything on my Nokia 5800. In fact, i can't see any traffic reports anywhere, although they are clearly listed on our government's traffic portal. I should point out, that my country is listed by Nokia as one having traffic reports available. ![]()
Has also someone else been experiencing a similar problem?
Do you might know where Nokia gets the traffic info?
Thanks for your help

Weird. I have to select a Place Category and none fit what I am trying to do.
Anyhow, I have created a few places and labeled them according to thecorrection needed. Let's see how this goes.
Thanks.

I solved the super slow GPS satellite lock by installing the 'Sports Tracker' Software on my phone. Its an app, you can use for tracking GPS points while on a bike or hiking tour and then upload the track to google earth. pretty cool app anyway but the best thing is, that it locks to satellites in less then a minute without anything else than integrated GPS running. I just start sportstracker, let it locate the satellites and then start maps. I'm pretty sure, the satellite lock issue on the nokia phones is a software problem. try it an tell me if it worked...

It is definitely a software issue. Ever since I upgraded to the latest version of OVI Maps, the situation has improved tremendously.
It is still not fantastic because if I am already moving, it still takes a long time to get a satellite lock. The chances are, I would already have passed a critical junction by the time I get a lock. So it's not good for emergency use.
Nowadays, if I expect to need the GPS, I turn it on when I am stationary and wait to get a lock before driving off. If I can afford to wait, that is. If time may be critical, I simply switch it on where I last stopped and already had a lock previously.
I use an in-car charger to make sure I don't run out of battery power by keeping the GPS on at all times.

I just upgraded to v3.4 of Ovi maps.. The application can predict my approximate location almost immediately without AGPS (no internet access). Is the issue resolved forever???

thanks the Problem solved By Setting up the Connection : the connection must be defined as Internet . I Mean in Jordan Kingdom ISP is Orange there are some access points like a Orange Wap , Orange Internet , Orange Mms , ovs etc.. and you should chose the Orange Internet Or your wireless network like TPL-XXX, livebox-XXX, etc.....

Hello All,
As all of you guys i suffer from the same proble mof getting a lock. I have gone through all the settings mentioned the discussion but its still takes more than 20 mins to get even network/AGPS based lock i tried using 2G/3G / WIFI but no help.
But one day out of blue i installed Google MAP & i was suprised to get a lock within 10 sec. Even after switching off GPS only network based lock was on in 5 secs ( it was not pin point accurate but within 200 mtrs) i think it was great even without GPS.
Now i am using google map to navigate & it works great with even wap connection (1-12kbps speed).
I think there is a big software glitch OVI maps/Postion sowftware which takes forever to get a lock. with google maps i get alock in my buling basement within 30 sec :-). Also my phones software is the latest V60.00 something & using latest OVI MAPS but it is a big pain.
I strongly suggest to move on to google maps you will be happy.

With A-GPS I get the lock in Nokia Maps within 10 seconds on my Nokia 5800xm. Even with Integrated GPS it takes 4-5 minutes on an average. Very rare cases it is in access of 10 minutes..
All users may not want to use Google Maps as it will require Data usage...
...and the biggest disadvatage of all NO VOICE GUIDANCE...
