@richwhite, i think it might be in devel but if you get it again its a lot better now, you can even have a runnng video with sound as the background but that'll probably eat the battery

Re: the ultimate place for wallpapers

Thanks for the nice link on wall-papers.

I too am using a Live wall-paper, which shows a city-scape, a tram-car moving on and th e day-night effects.

I intend to keep it for a few days. But the problem here is that the day-night effects are not properly calibrated with the time on the phone. For example, it is 8 pm in India....and the wall-paper shows day-light, with the sun yet to set.

Have you too experienced the same thing?

yea, there are a few options, haven't noticed any change in the battery yet but its only running whilst in view and if you have it on all four screens it only runs on the one you're using

Re: the ultimate place for wallpapers

seems stable, but i only got it yesterday so i can't be sure.

i'm not really sure what the difference is but you can run

apt-get

and it tells you the options and what they do

the commands are
echo "apt-get clean" | sudo gainroot | echo ""
and
echo "apt-get autoclean" | sudo gainroot | echo ""

don't put any commands with an output in tho cos it causes loads of problems. things like apt-get autoremove or apt-get update

Re: the ultimate place for wallpapers

The only problem with n900Wallpapers is that the site hasn't been updated in a couple of months.  I don't know what's going on there, whether it was just admin'ed by 1 guy who is no longer available etc, but it's stopped :smileysad:

Re: the ultimate place for wallpapers

for anyone wanting to use live wallpapers, just beware that it is stable but its not optified so it will slow things down a little and for some reason it stops some of the pop up menus from being displayed (sometimes) i.e. when you press update all in app manager it doesn't fully appear
