Yes you are being stu... only joking. press this magical link
http://maemo.org/downloads/product/raw/Maemo5/petr
you need to open the app to send files tho, so look in the 'more' section and open 'petrovich' then simply select what you want to send

I have had the n900 for about a week now and love it, but I cannot seem to transfer music from my PC to the n900. I hve downloaded the Ovi Player. The PC does not seem to know the n900 is there.
Someone please help, going nuts.

Yes this works for me but only with music I have put on the PC from my own CD's Unfortunately I am unable to transfer any music I have downloaded from Nokia Music - apparently N900 not supported so money wasted. Any ideas? I can understand not being able to transfer from i tunes! but when downloaded and paid for from Nokia surely there must be a way???

The problem is that Nokia's music store (outside china) uses Microsoft's Play for sure DRM.. This limts which devices can play the music you legitimately paid for.. So the name "play for sure" unlike an MP3 file from say itunes or amazon absolultely will NOT play for sure.
I detest DRM and will not donwloadable content buy anything that restricts which devices are able to replay..
It seems only Nokia in china have woken up and realised exactly how incredibly unfashionalble and "square" it is to add DRM to music..
It's SOOO 2005..
The problem with an open platform like Maemo is porting the horrendous DRM layer securely onto the device.. This is a massive undertaking and I don't believe it will ever come to the N900..
So, if you have DRM restricted downloads, you'll find fewer and fewer devices are able to play them anyhow.. yet another reason not to support any company that insists on such a rediculous tactic.. a tactic that is in no way for the benefit or convienience of the legitimate customer..
bad luck there!
(isn't itunes DRM free these days too?! that means you should be able to transfer your itunes tracks, though you probably can't use itunes itself to do it)

as chris said its so 2005 using drm and i used to battle with itunes and napster (amongst others) downloads but there are a few programs out there that will remove the drm but you'll probably have to pay for them seen as i've never found a good free one
i'm not sure how legal it is but if you've already paid for the music than how dare they restrict it, anyway bare in mind tho that its technicly illegal to rip a cd you own to a pc and i'm a dj and i own records that are technicly illegal (and they're not bootlegs either) but thats just how it goes so if you have a lot of drm music it might be worth the investment. it cost me £17, 5 years ago and it was called wmaconvert (don't be fooled by the wma tho cos its converted every music file i've used it for)
