Not entirely sure why you are having those challenges. it works with ms ex. 2003 fine and even use the MfEfolders app to make that better.
also, just to be sure, i would make sure that you are not creating or using any "calendars" in the calendar on the phone and only using the "N900" calendar if you want that information to sync.
couple things here:
1. are you trying to sync calendar/contacts/email with multiple computers and through the ms exchange?
-if so, i would personally make it so that the exchange only syncs email and then allow your outlook to control how
your contacts/calendar/notes are updated. i have noticed when syncing with muliple pc's, i run into data issues. so i use
one to sync with as a master and only update from phone to pc on the others to eliminate those challenges and have the
ex2003 only sync email.
2. the mulitple calendars idea is great, but doesnt sync like i thought that it would be able to, so long as they were public calendars. so only put your data in the regualar calendar and if you want to color-code anything on your handset, then just create a duplicate and use a different colored calendar. it will not sync or mess up your outlook.

MfE - I cannot go through the account setting - at the last step it says "Error. Server needs save connection or your account is off" - I think I am not only one man having this problem...
So I do not use MfE at all :-(
Calendar:
- I use only N900 (in my phone blue one) calendar - no other one created or in use
- I do my synchronisation of calendar/contact/notes only with 1 computer and only through PC Suite
PS. I did it on my old N73 as you says - MfE for e-mails, PC Suite for calendar/contacts/notes (despite it worked only manually, as N73 didn't work with certificates)

I finally got my n900 to synch with my Outlook 2003.. Tech support could not help me.
What I had to do was remove my profile on exchange and then readd my profile. Once I did that the Nokia PC Suite synched my calendar, contacts and tasks.
We use Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2003.
I also updated my N900 software and used the latest PC suite.
I have to vent, it took awhile to figure it out. And it took time to get used to the N900 from using my n95, but I'm starting to like the phone. Hope this helps.

Just bought my N900. Installed PC Suite from the Nokia site. Connected the phone via Blutooth. Ran the sync - all contacts, events, reminders are in the phone. How nice! Thank you Nokia.

I am having same issues. I use one email account, on one machine and have never had it work from when I bought it. I can't sync via wireless and I can't understand why that option exists. I work in medical care where wireless isn't an option and my previous role was in insurance and that wasn't an option. So if it can't work through USB it isn't happening.
The N900 is a truly awful phone and if ebay prices held up it would have been replaced. As it is I am stuck for 2 years with it, so I need to sync the calendar at the very least. After trying to remove the profile etc, nothing worked.
Not bothered about emails and tasks, but calendar is a killer for me and at the moment I go through the wizard and click to syncronise to get "your outlook message may have moved?" Which is rubbish as it was where I just selected on the previous screen, and when I go back, is still there. But it won't sync.
Are there any other fixes. I am trying to refraining from venting but as technical things go the N900 is pants and tomorrows car boot sale. BTW typing this message without a cursor for the web editor? Who thought that was a good idea?

download pc suite @ http://www.nokiausa.com/get-support-and-software/s
DO NOT USE THE OVI SUITE
if you have ovi suite installed, then uninstall it first.
then install the pc suite from the link above.
after you have completed the installation, reboot your pc.
upon reboot, launch the pc suite (if it has not already) (i would set the settings to launch with windows start up)
when the software is running, click on the blue &green yin~yang icon for sync.
click on the phone icon, it will pop up a box to help you find a phone.
plug your phone in the usb cable, choose the pc suite on you n900
click on searcy icon onthe phone connection pop-up.
once your phone is connected, then go back to the original box that youclick on the phone icon, and click on the wrench icon to set up what, and how you want synced.
if your contacts and calendar are up to date on your pc, and you want to start fresh, then chekc the box for replace all data on the handset, and then sync.
after that sync, go back into the wrench and change that setting to how you want it to sync, otherwise, everytime you sync, it will completely change all the data to what youhave in outlook instead of adding and syncing all appointments, etc back and forth.
if you have bluetooth on you pc, then it is just as easy to do it that way.
report if that works.

Hi Ceroberts.
I have done exactly what you have said at least three times. I have never used Ovi suite as the first time went via nokia it said my phone wasn't supported so always tried with the PC suite.
Before PR1.2 I tried what you suggested, going through step by step, reboot after install. Did that whole process on two seperate occasions. Even did the profile deletion and recreation steps.
And then I tried yesterday after the PR 1.2 install. Before making my post.
Now for some unknown reason I have tried it again. And it worked. Same PC, same software, same cable, same phone and even the same process. I will try it a couple of times today and see what happens but thanks for the very clear instructions. Now if it could do MMS and individual ringtones I would have what I need.
Many thanks.

I recently got my N900.
I sync Outlook Calendar, Tasks, Note & Contacts via OVI.
However, Repeating Events (such as weekly/monthly/annual events) do not sync well. At best, they sync without Alarms. Worst case scenario, they get all messed up, corrupting events back into Outlook.
Any suggestions? Any third party software that fully supports this?
