Thanks for the Link
Very interesting
Here a Link with also a simple solution for reboot/restart. Since about 12 hours it runs without draining the battery (in moment about 10mA)

My current status:
Nokia N9 64 GB PR1.1 20.2011.40_4_PR_001
I have not used the phone at all during these tests.
No email in use, no Fb in use, no absolutely nothing, all accounts disabled, never used developer mode.
1. all apps removed except the Nokia default apps, reboot -> full battery lasted 6h
2. re-installed PR 1.1 using Nokia Software Updater -> full battery lasted 5.5h
3. re-installed apps Battery Usage and Resource Monitor (RscsMonitor) from Nokia to see what eats up the battery:
Battery Usage: Avg Idle Consumption 233mA
RscsMonitor: Top Processes: /usr/bin/smartsearch CPU % 83-92 constantly.
The phone itself is not especially warm, quite normal room temperary,
maybe just slightly heated.
What next?
In my opinion there is nothing wrong with the battery itself since it loads full but
rather something wrong with the process that clearly drains the battery quickly.
Something else to be tried?
The steps above are the only ones i ever done for this phone,
i'm not really familiar with the difference of hard reset vs flash vs re-install PR 1.1.
As far as hard reset is concerned, there are just too many issues regarding hard reset, therefore i'm not really too willing to try it just yet:
"Nokia Ovi store on my N9 stopped working.
Everytime when I click download it says: Caution! Before you can continue the corrupted app must be deleted.
It starts downloading, but every single time the setup or/and download fails."
"I've reset my N9 five times today and it just won't work! Even my e-mail stopped working"
"i tried this and now have black screen only, any idea?"
I really cannot use a phone that only stays up < 6h idle.
Any suggestions?

Did you really re-installed PR 1.1 by Nokia Software Updater ? - if yes, please be PATIENT as indexing (smartsearch) will take time up to 1 full day ... honestly, I suggest you enable developer mode - it might help for your both problems (draining battery and Nokia store problem) as well as you will need it for a boot too (reboot -u ... through terminal), if needed later, as it has been used to fix some cases - read here: http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=1121191&postc

I will be patient and wait for the smartsearch to get everything finished, i will give it now couple of days.
Next step will be activating the developer mode,
then devel-su - followed by reboot -u
I will let you know what happens.
Cheers for the mental support and tips so far ![]()

Does devel-su / rootme in the developer mode break the Nokia N9 product warranty?
The original problem concerning the power consumption still remains exactly the same as yesterday, same values remain for smartsearch / avg Idle.
I will still keep waiting smartsearch progress, just interested meanwhile about the rootme/warranty issue.

Smartsearch battery drain power consumption SOLUTION
Finally got everything working, this is what i did:
1.Settings/Reset/Restore Settings
-> original problem remained the same
2.re-install of PR 1.1 using Nokia Software Updater
-> original problem remained the same
3.reboot -u using Settings > Security > Developer mode (devel-su/rootme + cd /sbin + ./reboot -u)
-> original problem remained the same
Solution:
4.disable Developer Mode if it is enabled
5.Settings/Reset/Clear Device
6.enable Developer Mode, this is necessary to be able to reinstall Nokia apps
7.disable Developer Mode once all the Nokia apps are reinstalled
Result:
Resource Monitor / Top Processes: no smartsearch in the list anymore
Battery Usage:
Avg Idle Consumption now 38mA, might still go down more during time (original 233mA)
Battery lasted 6h before, now lasts 20h minimum, even with normal use
Conclusion:
In my experience Clear device will resolve most likely all N9 battery drain power consumption problems,
i should have done Clear device right in the beginning but was just too shy due to new device and platform.
I would assume same applies most likely also for Nokia Lumia WP phones ie.hard reset also most probably works there in similar problems.
Brand new devices with brand new software always is a challenge for the first users but challenges are there to be tackled.
I wish Nokia Care could have given me some real help, this time i had to learn it the hard way.
One very important part in the solution was the very active N9 Meego community, call that a real ecosystem with wide knowledge.
Long live N9, long live Meego, i am again as happy as can be owner of this piece of brilliant software and hardware and
wouldn't change it to any other. No wonder N9 has won such many awards.
I hope this solution helps as many Nokia users as possible. ![]()

In addition to my previous post, i suppose the following would probably be the
simplest way regarding the solution that was mentioned
1.Settings/Reset/Clear Device
2.Install PR 1.1 using Nokia Software Updater
I never tried exactly that combination in that order so not sure, but pretty sure that would work.
