go here
http://email.nokia.com/account/home.action
login
on right you will see an area that allows you to send a sms to your phone that has a link allowing you to reinstall.

That does not work..
When you log into the messaging service, and press the "install now" button, it does take you to a page where you can select your device. The N900 is listed, and you can send the settings to your phone.
However when you receive the message on your phone, and navigate using the URL you received, this screen is shown.

Your N900 is not a symbian device, so trying to install any of those will prove useless.

Happy New Year!
Unfortunately Nokia Messaging is not visible in the list. Is there a specific country that I must select to get it? I try US, UK but no matter which one I select, I don't see it.
I got an SMS but as mentioned in this thread, only Symbian links are provided.
Any ideas how I can resolve this?
Thank you in advance.
George

I have tried your steps but Nokia Messaging is not part of the choices under Service Provider.
What do you recommend next?

It is on mine.
Here is a screen shot from my N900 (excuse the dodgey theme
)
