Hi, and welcome to the forum! If you are not happy with the service that you have received from your local Nokia Care point, your best option is always to call Nokia Care in your country (see contact details from www.nokia.com/customerservice.) You can discuss the issue with them, and if needed, issue a complaint with their help.
You can also contact us in the Discussions team and email us at support.discussions@nokia.com, and we will forward your message to your local Nokia Care and ask them to get in touch and help. Tell us how you can best be reached, which country you are from and any details about your case that would help.

I am offered to get a similar product for my N900 with broken USB connector!
I have been offered an E7!!!!
How can Nokia say that E7 is a similar product?????
Linux compared to Symbian.
Should not N9 be the only similar product that Nokia has???????
Nokia can´t repair a loose USB port within warrantytime!!!!
Why doesn´t Nokia have spare parts for N900????

Hi Kjell, and welcome to the forum!
We in the Discussions team do not unfortunately know the replacement policy or the spare parts situation for any device (in any country).
Please call Nokia Care in your country and discuss the local replacement policy directly with them - start from www.nokia.com/customerservice or your local Nokia website -> Support -> Contact Us.

I live in NYC and have been happy, loyal to Nokia, I've paid over 500 dollars for Nokia n900 phone , now I am experiencing micro port problem like everyone else, I am unable to charge or connect to my PC any longer, if Nokia refuses fix/replace i will take them to small claims court. This is major Nokia N900 defect, I am very disappointed.

I just got off the phone with Nokia repair center and they told me they cant fix my phone for free because it is not under warranty. From what I understand, the problem is indeed a Nokia defect and they should fix it regardless. I really hope somebody here will help me resolve my issue. Thanks.
Edit: I am in the US, baltimore to be exact. But I am willing to send to UK if it is the only option. From what I understand, UK Nokia support is much friendlier.

Nokia was supposed to send me a box to get an estimate on the repairs, still nothing arrived. I was told the people here were able to replace your broken phones with an e7/n8. Anybody?

Hi,
My N900's usb port has become loose so I can no longer charge or access my phone data directly via the cable, I have been using an FTP server to do this. However my warranty is unfortunatley over - does anyone know how much it would cost to be repaired. Or are Nokia providing support to those of us with recognised manafacturing defects, who have purchased rather pricey phones?
Thanks for any help.

Hi.....
Was there any result as to how to fix the usb/charging problem???
I have just bought a second hand N900, (so no warranty), and have the same problem with the port not charging/charging intermittantly.....![]()
Best Wishes

If my n900 doesn't come back from Nokia this week better than new
Don't know where you think they are going to find parts for this obsolescent model now, surprised that you haven't been offered N8 or E7 as a replacement!

Im so angry and frustrated.
The USB defect has occurred for the 2nd time.
It first happened a few months after I had bought it. I had it replaced for another N900 after sending documentation with it to the repair center saying that this was a known case for Nokia and I included printouts of this forum thread. A few weeks after that i had a brand new N900 back as a replacement. That was in May-June 2010.
The N900 I have at the moment (replacement one) is out of warranty and I am experiencing the same issue with the USB again. I have emailed Nokia Care and they responded by saying that the standard warranty applies to all devices and that I had to pay to get it fixed.
I did not respond to that, but I contacted Nokia Care UK directly two times. The first time I was on the phone for almost an hour. I made my case and told them what happened, that I had this phone replaced back in 2010, and that I'm having problems with this one too. I explained that regardless of warranty status this should be fixed or replaced since its a Nokia acknowledged defect. The guy was not accepting that and he kept going on about warranty issues.
I kindly asked to speak to a manager and I was told that the manager was in a meeting and could not speak to him. So I called them back 2 hours after that, explaining my whole case again to another lady. I asked her to put me through to a manager. She tried and then she told me that even if I did spoke to a manager they would say the same thing. I had to ask 3 times and then eventually a manager agreed to talk to me.
I made my case again, told them everything, that I was angry and frustrated that I had a 500 pound phone that did not work. I told them that back in 2010 when I had it replaced, Nokia should had given me a phone of a similar value and not another N900 if they knew this was happening often to the N900. I tried to explain that other users had there phones replaced for N8 but I was told t hat since the warranty is not valid there was nothing they could do and that I was talking to one of the top managers in the department so basically that's as far as I could take it.
I am now considering going through the small claims court. This is a nightmare. I am not happy AT ALL with Nokia.
