Ah!!! this is great news for the iPhone Australian and NewZealand sales!!! no competition, the most coolest object to have right now on the earth, with the Aston Martin Vantage kicked to second place for the first time ever.
I am a loyal Nokia client and if this is true, it is so so disappointing.
It seems Nokia Australia are more concerned to get the N97 ex stock sold, than to actually please us, their customers. To launch the N900 in Australia now, will almost certainly see the N97, N97 Mini, E75, E71 and E72 sales decline dramatically, who would want a drop of water when he can have a whole glass water???
Perhaps some proactive sales management planning is in order for Nokia at 19 Harris Street Pyrmont Sydney, Australia deserves this???
Australia is a first world country, with great access to 3G networks. How this could be aloud to happen is absolutely mind boggling...
My advice "is to bypass the silliness of the Nokia Australia Sales Team Management at 19 Harris Street Pyrmont Sydney" and to order it from America, warranty? Who cares, by now most, if not all, of the N900 bugs are fixed. I have a contract with Optus and they have more than sufficient coverage in Australia.
Perhaps not a bad small business venture opertunity????

lol WOW, interesting thread.
hey guys I’m from Melbourne Australia. I was one of the first guys in the world to get the N900 a few days before it was even out, so I’ve had it for a while. I won it through Nokia Finland

This phone is running amazing down here. I have tried it on all networks and its fast. With Optus it has been flawless so far. Not sure what the issue is with nokia not bringing it down here. lol i feel like im the only guy who owns one. bad business move and bad for loyalty. There is currently a war on a few forums about the N900's future because of MeeGo.
My advice on this situation is to skip the n900 and wait for the next mainstream MeeGo device. by the time and if the n900 gets here its going to be way to late since the N900 will be the only phone running Maemo 5. YOU will get **bleep** as it will most likely not get MeeGo. Cool phone though. But if nokia do release MeeGo to the N900 get it second hand as the price is dropping. ![]()
