Re: N900 Video play format?

Hi

I have a bunch of WMV files which I wanted to play on N900 and initially I started converting them to AVI but again, I had problems. So, I tried changing them to MP4 format (with aac Audio format).

When I tried to play these mp4 files, I don't get a Codec error like I did for AVI files, but all I see is the 5 horizontal dots continuously moving (to indicating that it's loading), but it just goes on like that for a couple of minutes and then stopped.

Any idea what's wrong? Is there anyway to trace what's going on? The clips sizes are around 720x404, but they're less than the N900's screen size, right, or should I make them smaller?

I'm using a program called Fast Video Converter Pro, which is available from http://www.dvdfast.net.

Cheers

Leo

Re: N900 Video play format?

try using the converter i listed on the first page of this thread.

also, double check the resolution of the mp4 files after conversion. some file formats dont convert properly. mpegs and wmvs for some reason seem to screw up in the conversion process and the horizontal resolution doubles, and as a result, wont play on the n900. you may need to use an intermediate program to generate an xvid avi before converting to mp4 (virtualdubmod can handle the converting to xvid)
