Hey!
My nokia n9 cannot connect to twitter through the twitter app. It keeps displaying a message 'unable to load Trending Topic' in the first screen and in the sign in screen it says 'sorry, can't connect to twitter'.
However, I can connect to the internet and acess twitter through the web browser. The facebook app works just fine too.
Any ideas how to fix this?
Cheers

Nokia N9 doesn't allow you to uninstall twitter. :/

I had this problem today. Best thing to do is a reset from your phone. Only thing what you need to delete from your backup is the folder settings.

I have the same problem, cant connect to server, checked the time and date didnt work

Same, here. Twitter refuses to connect. "Check device time and date" is what it says. However this is ok, i tried different times, regions, dates, whatever. Didn't work.
Anyone who has a fix?

I had this as well but I went to settings, time and language, time and date, and activated automatic time update and it resolved the issue for me. This was not on by default for my N9. I suggest checking that setting.

try to reset the twitter app. apparently there are bugs with this version which are supposed to be fixed int he pr1.1 coming.
this worked to fix the "unable to login" issue, so it wouldnt hurt to try it on this too.
make sure that you have enabled developer mode:
open xterm (do not devel-su into the terminal)
gconftool --recursive-unset /system/http_proxy
gconftool --recursive-unset /system/proxy
gconftool --recursive-unset /system/osso
this wipes all the bluetooth connections and internet connection data as well, but that is easy to redo.

can you tell me which API you are seeing file not found on?

For those still seeing it and have checked their time and date settings, can you tell me:
1. are you on PR1.0 (10.2011.34-1) or PR1.1 (20.2011.40-4) version of the N9 software?
1. were you able to successfully log in to Twitter via the preloaded Twitter app at any point at any point before getting "can't connect to Twitter"? Is it intermittent?
2. can you try going to Accounts app and deleting your Twitter account and re-adding the Twitter account again?

1. On 20.2011.40-4. Same problem as preupdate: can't connect to twitter, no trending topic but can search.
2. Yes. One time. I logged out and could no longer log back in. Never intermittent.
3. It was not possible to delete my twitterapp on my N9.
