Hi everyone,

I've got some trouble with the native Twitter app on my Nokia N9. The first time I turned on the phone, I was able to connect to some of my accounts (Gmail, Mail for Exchange, Facebook,..) and, native Twitter app too. No problem with this one.

But - and i don't know why i did this -, I deleted my Twitter account and then tried an other one (Twimgo. Really bad one imho, btw). But when i decided to come back to the native app, i've not been able to connect to Twitter : when i launch the app, the first thing i see is "unable to load trending topic", then when i try to connect "sorry, can't connect to Twitter".

I've got - of course - a good Wifi connection and i'm sure about my ID & password. I tried to reset the phone but nothing changed. And, as suggested here, i checked date&time and it's ok

this is a known issue and will be fixed (according to my contacts at nokia in Sunnyvale working on it) in the next update comining soon pr1.1

in the mean time, there are two options:

1. reformat your device and start over.
2. use the html5 twitter site. it works great. and you can just create a shortcut in your applications list until then if you can wait.

Great news. I had just seen your post on the other thread.
Now.. hope this update will arrive very soon.. no ideas about a specific date ?

in addition to the above, use this instead of having to start over completely with your device.

open xterm (do not devel-su into the terminal)
gconftool --recursive-unset /system/http_proxy
gconftool --recursive-unset /system/proxy
gconftool --recursive-unset /system/osso

this will make you have to redo all your internet connections and bluetooth connections, but you do no have to start over with your device.

pr1.1 might have solved the issue for twitter and nokia accounts, but seems the same old problems is still dogging calDAV

Hi everyone,

Since the PR 1.1 update, still can't connect to Twitter App. Plus can't connect to Fb or Gmail account, with the same error message as said above. I accidentally deleted my Fb account and when i wanted to connect to it again, hadn't been able to.

It seems that i could connect only ONE time with all different account and now it's no more possible once i delete it and create it again. As i said, update didn't help.

Actually, i don't really want to reset completely my N9. Has anyone a solution ?

Hi all,

Stangely, i've been able to connect again to my Facebook account yesterday, after a simple reboot. Still nothing for Twitter.

I tried the terminal solution you gave me but when i push "enter" after writing the code line, it seems it's not working. Not finding it. 

Maybe i have mistaked ?

you have to be sure that you are typing exactly what is there.

here is a cheat way to minimize the errors.

type the first one...make sure it is correct. then hit enter.

then, instead of typing it all over again, just tap the up arrow on the toolbar. (if you dont have the arrows, the either tap the top right of the screen for the menu/toolbar/Arrows, or you can simply swipe above the current bar right-to-left and it will switch)

after you tap the up arrow, just back space until you get to:

gconftool --recursive-unset /system/

and enter only the last segment then enter again.

Thanks for your message. I read the first one again and realized i've been missing a space juster after "recursive-unset".. what a noob ;-)

And.. now it's working. For the moment ! I hope it'll stay working. Thanks again :-)

Thank you for the code, just did it.

Have PR1.1 running. WiFi-Network is unstable, don't know why.

In the end, Network settings were not deleted and Twitter is running right now.
