I have all my contacts in Nokia x6. I also did sync with OVI site. I would like to get the contacts either from the x6 or from OVI site into my phone N900. How can I get them? I did use phone switch application from N95 to x6. Don't know how to do for N900. Thanks, Chinni

is your ovi upto date, you should just be able to sync

settings/transfer & sync/new

then make the new connection to your x6.

then start a trnasfer

I really want to use OVI to edit my contacts and send to N900. Is it possible to sync with OVI site? If not any other popular solution? Thanks for all the help.

ovi is not compatible with the n900 like it is with x6.

i would not use ovi suite at all yet, you may run into more issues then you wish to have.

if you use Outlook, then i would dowload the Free Nokia PC Suite and connect and sync to edit and modify your contacts that way.

as a beta testor for the ovi suite for n900, i have had to redo my complete 1037 contacts over and over at least 4 times when ovi suite was in use.....(thats why i always have a duplicate copy of my pst file before i make such changes.)

if you have not tried yet, taking control of all your data on the n900 is much easier then other devices and is much like a pc in effect.  so you may actaully find using ovi as...redundant.

Thanks a lot. It is easy to edit contacts on phone itself in N900.

If I want to backup contacts, where is this pst file that you have mentioned?

the pst file is an outlook file for personal data that is resident on your pc.  you will not find a pst file in your n900.

to back up your n900:

backup/new backup

and then wait!

and then it is done.
