Hi everyone, I am a bit disappointed with the N900's volume loudness controls, the audio player doesn't have an "Equalizer" either.
Is there any Maemo software apps for increasing volume loudness?
I just purchased my N900 yesterday & is new to Maemo Devices, I hope you don't mind if I repeated the same questions previously posted, best regards.

for volume... you can use the hardware volume keys. or you can tap the speaker icon in the media player and adjust it there.
for an equaliser, you can use one of the other freeware apps floating around.

i am afraid there is not much you can do for volume, but as for the EQ....
add the EXTRAS REPOSITORY & EXTRAS TESTING
and also, EXTRAS-DEVEL (this repository and the testing have some applications that could cause issues, so until you are good enough to trouble shoot, be sure to ask about them first)
you can install those repos by opening this blog with your n900 browser and clicking on the links i made for you.
then you can install the following application from the appmanager:
rootfs
then after that you can try installing symfonie from the extras-devel.
you can do this by either going through the appmanager, or it is faster to use the x-terminal.
open xterm
sudo gainroot
apt-get install symfonie

Hi ceroberts75, thank you for your knowledgeable advice, have you tried it before?
The volume level could be limited to the hardware only, it would be nice to raise the sound level a little higher, I hope this is possible later. Best regards!![]()

yes i have. it has been a while, but i removed it, as i ,t didnt matter to me to have an EQ.
i just installed it again to test it for you. amazingly, it remebered where i was on a track that i was listening to when i tried it before.
you should give it a try. should be safe to do so. just follow the directions above.
