Unlocking procedure

Hi,

 I get the unlock code for my E71 from my service provider.

They gave me the following procedure : #pw+master code+1#.

They told me that the the p, w and + characters should be obtained by pressing the "*" touch :

p = 3 times

w= 4 times

+= twice

The problem is when I press the"*" touch, no thing happens, just '*' is displayed.

Is there a solution?

Thanks in advance

Re: Unlocking procedure

You have to press the key twice or more QUICKLY in succession.

Re: Unlocking procedure

I tried it but it's the same thing.

Do I have to remove the sim card for this procedure or not?

Re: Unlocking procedure

It could be that the E71, having a full QWERTY keypad, means you have to enter "pause" and "wait" differently from a "normal" phone.

Consult your manual on how to dial these and the "+" (the international prefix) then use the procedure given there to input the restriction code.

Re: Unlocking procedure

I had the same problem on my N97 when trying to enter an unlock code and after trial and error I managed to get it to work by pressing and holding the # key down (which activated my profiles /general/silent etc) and then tried typing in the # again and ** as instructed to get 'p' /'w' and '+' etc. Hope this helps.
