Hi, I have been having problems installing Nokia software updater. I have windows XP, 1 G ram, 2.4Ghz Processor, PC suite installed and when the installation begins I have a Scripter error which fails the install operation. (yes i downloaded in full the setup program). It displays error 1720 then blah blah, then that "Custom Kill_process script error - 2147217388,: line 5, column1,"
This is all displayed in a Nokia Software Updater Dialogue box. I have a screen shot, if anyone wants to see it.

Could someone please help me, I'm pulling my hair out.

the very best solution:

This is easy to get around. The error is only in Nokia's combined installer, not the NSU installer itself.

1. Download and install 7-Zip. Don't worry it's free!
(No, neither WinRAR nor WinZip will do for this)

Get it here: http://www.7-zip.org/download.html

2. Use 7-Zip to extract the contents of NokiaSoftwareUpdaterSetup_en.exe into a folder. You should now have a bunch of folders and a few files.

3. Go into Packages, then NokiaSoftwareUpdater, then Setup

4. Launch NokiaSoftwareUpdater.msi (double-click it).

5. That's it!
