Hello I just bought a Nokia 6110 Navigator, it works great and I am quite pleased with it...

EXCEPT that it came with the wrong MAP in embeded microSD
It should have been france, but it was Switzerland!

Even wors I deleted map and replaced it with that of france before I realised that the map could be locked/unlocked depending on wether it was bought or not!

So my first question about this is:

Is the initial map that comes on microSD locked ?

if it is not locked than I am loosing a lot...
so my secondly question in this event is:

Can I get a replacement ? how ?

NOTE: there is still a file at root of my memory card that states the original content of the card:
"MU28_SW0351_0632431_EURO1_Austria_Switzerland_512MB_V01"

I can't really help you a great deal with your queries as I have a N95, but I've had a brief look @ the Nokia 6110 pages and it looks like the maps are supplied by a company called Route 66.

I would advise you to try contacting them in the first instance explaining your situation and seeing if there is anything they can do for you.

The only way to correct this issue is to go to the nearest authorized Nokia service and let them take care.

The default map with phone is not locked. The phone include the default map depending on the sales area.If you transfer the other maps without lisence buy, they are locked.

Thank you maay the info I needed was that map provided with the phone is licensed/unlocked...

I will folow your advice and try do get this fixed from nearest Nokia authorised dealer.

Unfortunately this will have to wait till my return from vacation (sigh).
