I got my sister's N95, after she got an upgrade with Orange c/o Santa.
So I got it unlocked to use other sim cards, but this only worked for a short-time and now I just get the no signal/GSM sign (even with my Orange sim inserted). I was told that it was the original software conflicting...... umh?! However, my sims work fine in another corresponding phones...
I have tried restoring factory settings (*#7370#) and re-installing the latest s/w (v30.0.018) from the nokia support site, but to no avail; as this still appears to incorporate the orange theme/settings etc.
Any constructive ideas/help most welcome....

Strange issue that you have here. Irrespective of whether now carrier unlocked, device remains on Orange branded firmware v30.0.018 as this is dictated by the seven digit product code beginning with "0" on label under battery, whereas unbranded versions would be V31.0.015.
If this was a UK phone I would be concerned that it is a "Blacklisted" device now on the CEIR.

Thanks aspergerguy,
I take it the phone could be black listed, as a result of the phone being unblocked?
If so, I guess then I have a couple of options:
- go back to the place that did the unblocking
- ring orange to see if they will sort it, (probably for an additional fee)
- get another phone

Can't really see how unlocking device can have had any bearing as network was not involved in this process. I don't want to point finger at Orange erroneously but do wonder whom initiated "Blocking" in first place if this is the underlying issue.

Finally got through to Orange and they confirmed that the phone (IMEI) is not black listed!!!
So any other useful suggestions guys? I'm back to using my old 2650 - retro but very basic...
