Dear Friends, I was updating phone software and the updating was interrupted before its successful conclusion. The phone hanged so i attempted to restart it bu removing the battery. The problem is the phone is completely dead, it does not reatart.

Please assist me if there is a possibility of reinstalling the phone software or i shoul acquire a nother one, i am desparete.

Thanks for the responce. I actually used the same procedure for reviving N93 and my N70 phone is fully operational. I am realy glad that the userd s here have really helped me I appreciate.

The only problem is i've lost all my contacts and on restoring the backup file. Despite being able to see contacts in the Nokia Bowser, I cannot see tham in the meeting

I am pleased that the process posted by nando61 has been successful for you, and thanks for providing feedback. It now seems to have worked for N70, N73 and N93 apart from loss of data unfortunately.

It may however be a small price to pay if you have a "bricked" "N" Series and visit to Nokia Service Centre neither practical or feasible.

Lastly it must be remembered that a lot of update failures are due to movement of PopPort connector on N70 and N80, and with adoption of mini usb on newer models hopefully a thing of the past.

I too get the same problem for my n70 also. I saw the solution below your question but i couldn't find out what is level3 nokia center
