Does the problem come only when you get sms or also when you get incoming calls from that numbers(s)?
This usually happens if you have duplicate contact entries for one number i.e;the same number stored under more than one name (either in sim or phone memory)

I have the same problem I have checked. I have no duplicate, not even on sim card. and on my N95 it works
Rodney
ps even calls. for example I have 2 contacts, one is +35699471618 and the other is +35679471618. there is a different number after the country code of MAlta (+356) and these do not appear even when i make or recieve a call. very frustrated and disapointed

Hey Guys, sorted this missing Contact Name business for SMS I think.
Spent all night trying to work this out for my wife and finally solved it. So I've joined the forum so I could hopefully help you all...
Just do the following:
Settings > Phone > Language > Phone Language - Change this to English rather than Automatic.
It worked for us. I think that the Nokia SMS is using this to display text language and also interpret the Country Code in the Phone Book. If you select English it seems to identify +44 and shows the Contact Names in SMS!
Good Luck
