N97 Camera Crashes Phone

When I slide my camera cover open the camera application starts but it only gets as far as the black screen with a few icons on then the phone freezes for a few minutes before resetting. Opening the camera app from the menu so it uses the secondary camera does the same.

 

I've done a hard reset on the phone and tried to reinstall the firmware but the NSU will not let me as its already up to date.

 

Is there anything else I can try before visiting a repair centre?

Same problem here. Works about 50% of the time.

Having the same problem just like many other N97 users out there.

 

There was even a youtube video showing this.

 

 

Hoping this would be fixed on the next firmware update.
