Need help! Have been reading troubleshooting threads - tried "3 finger" hard reboot, but no luck. Phone won't startup at all. Any suggestions?
White screen, no sound! ![]()

I'm afraid you have to take it to the nearest Nokia Care Point.
Are you sure that you're doing the hard reset in the right way? You should press and continue holding all the three buttons (3, *, Call) until you see the region selection screen. It might take multiple attempts before you finally get it right.

I hope so! I held down all 3 simultaneously.... not easy, I might add!!
I attempted this several times, at first just white screen, no sound; at the last attempt I got the Nokia startup tune, but still just a white screen. I'm just concerned the the damage is possibly more severe!
We took the phone in for repair and was told nothing could be done, software corrupted. I was offered R100 for the phone, needless to say, I walked out! No way am I selling this mobile for R100!! Surely corrupted software can be repaired?

You are supposed to use the power button as well in the 3 finger reset.
Firstly remove the battery for at least 5 minutes and then replace and see if that makes any difference.
Then try the "3 finger deep reset". With the phone powered off, depress and hold these three keys simultaneously "*" "3" "green phone" and then power on phone using the on/off button whilst keeping all four keys depressed until you hear start-up tone.
This should ONLY be done if the device doesn't power up normally anymore and it wipes everything in the Phone memory that is not part of the ROM.

Well, if it purely due to corrupt software is not due to a hardware problem then the phone can be reflashed by a Nokia Care Point.
I think it is quote obvious that your local repair shop would have bought the phone from you, repaired it and sold it on for much more than that.
