E71 overheating

Three days ago, my E71 suddenly started to overheat near it's back camera, sometimes to the point its almost dangerous to put the phone over my ear. I've also noticed that the battery itself is overheating (less than the phone) and battery charge life dropped to less than 20h (used to be 48h on typical usage). Yesterday I put it on the wall charger, and after 10 hours, it was still recharging (and baterry was really hot).

I've already checked for any rogue process using any other radio inside, and even reset it to factory state, but without success. Any tip on this subject?

Re: E71 overheating

If the handset is getting this hot in strange places then you should stop using it and take it immediately to a Nokia Care point.

/discussions/board/message?board.id=topfaq&thread.id=3

That thread will tell you how to locate your nearest care point.

Excessive heat as you suggesting is not normal and it needs to be looked at.

Re: E71 overheating

After talking with Nokia customer support by phone, I've returned my E71 back to a Nokia Care Center. After 30 days, they replaced my E71 including new battery and power charger. The phone was under warranty, so no costs applied.

Good luck!
