Hmm, that's wierd about when it occurs.

First thing you can do is to calibrate the screen to see if that makes any difference: Menu->settings->phone->touch input->touch screen calibration. Use your stylus to make sure you get it as close to the 4 points as possible.

When did this problem start to happen? After installing any app or messing with some settings? - In that case please uninstall or redo, to see if it can solve anything.

You should also give the " remove your battery for 2 mins" a chanse, before putting it back in the phone and boot it.

- I'ts hard to say what's the cause of this, it could be software related, but it might look like it's hardware related. In that case youre stuck.

Anyway, what fw version are you on? If you don't know, diall *#0000#. - It might be worth trying to update it if there's a more recent update available for you. You can check here: http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/device-software-update/can-i-update

If there's no update, or the update doesn't fix it, or non of the above tips won't help: you could always try a hard reset. - Before you attend to to that, please back up your contacts, messages and whatever you want using ovi suite or PC suite as a hard reset will wipe your phone memory. - It will also probably make apps installed on the memorycard unusable. Music, pictures on the memorycard should still be intact as it only affects the phonememory and apps that would have a connection to the phonememory.

Re: 5800 problem with touch screen

tried replace LCD@rm95......didnt work
tried flash firmware @rm50 ....didnt work
next step is to replace the touchscreen IC...pending quote for workshop
didnt know that it was so serious. rclxub.gif

from a forum, i got a suggesetion as per below:

i will try it and let u know.

I also like yours one, but i fixed it myself.. just open the front panel and push the touch panel from inside alongside the perimeter. If pushing it didnt work, i cut 1cm of rubber band then put between the lcd screen and the touch panel there. i don know hot to elaborate more. but its works for me. almost 4 month.

from my observation, the cause for this problem is because the touch screen film is longgar from the touch panel frame. I've done it for my frens too. Save ffew hundred bucks..
