My 5800 does not want to boot to the welcome screen with the nokia logo. I switch the phone on and about 4 seconds later the phones screen goes on and the whole screen displays white, then a small line appears and the screen starts to go grey and then goes black and this loops for about 3 or 4 times. I have tried to hard reset, but the phone does not get that far. I have the latest firmware installed. I have also tried to remove the memory card and sim card and everything, but nothing seems to work. Please any advice would be great.

What happened: Sent a sms before I went to bed, put the phone on charge, next morning when I woke up the phone was still in exact spot, but the phone froze. I removed the battery and after the the phone will not switch on.

Did u remove the SIM and memory card before doing the hard reset? If not, remove both and try a new hard reset. Make sure u have depressed all the correct buttons before pressing power button.

As you already might know, the hard reset will wipe your phone memory.

From what u tell it sounds like there is a hardware fault causing this behavior and you should take it to a Nokia care point unless the hard reset does its trick, which I doubt.

Thanks for the fast reply. I did try what you said, but it did not work, does not even get to the welcome screen will have a look at where a care center is thanks
