my nokia E63 has 3 network the UMTS,DUAL MODE,GSM if i select dual mode and umts no network the GSM only works.any help.what can i do.

This means one of three possible things:

1) You're living in an area where there's no 3G coverage

2) 3G coverage where you are is on frequency bands other than those that the phone can receive.

3) The phone is faulty.

Unfortunatey, you neglected to tell us the phone model (give us the readout when you enter *#0000#) and in which country you are, so there's little we can do to prove or disprove 1) or 2).

thanks,well ma model phone is nokia E63,where am staying has 3G network coverage and i have friends who are using the same phone and its working.my firmware is the latest i have upgraded.

Have you got a 3G enabled sim card?

Some sims are not compatible with 3G, only GSM.  Contact your network if you are unsure.

I live in Malta, Europe, and I too have the same problem. I have a Nokia E63 and i just cannot connect on 3G even though the 3G sign appears at the top left hand side of the screen. I have a 3G sim card and the service is available as well. My other 3G phone works perfectly well but the E36 does not. My son has the same model and it gives him no problem.

Did you confirm the Mode of connection ? It should be UMTS or Dual Mode ..

I tried it on both UMTS and Dual Mode.

As per my previous post, I tried it on both UMTS and Dual Mode. It shows the 3G sign on the top left hand corner but no signal. Also, there is a signal when using a 2G sim card and works perfectly well. But not on 3G.
