new E63 restarts every 2 or 5 minutes !!

I have bougth 3 Nokia E63 from Newegg.com

 

I have opened one, tried it, and sudenly it restarts alone (nokia logo, and again on home menu)

I was on web. Then I tried to write a message, and again the same....

I connected to computer via usb and it restarts every 2 minutes !!!

 

I have opened the others and is happening the same.

The FW version is 200.21.012

 

What can I do? I need them asap.

They are brand new. opened by me.

 

please someone help me !

If your E63 is under warranty, you better sent it back or bring it in.

Well i hav same prob with my e63 i goes on restart when i open multiple app wht is solution plzz take me out of here its really annoying i cant take it any more...??

As I said, bring it in or reset the E63. Dial *#7370# 12345 reformat, you'll lose all data. Make a backup first and restore without the settings.

if i used which u given code then my problem will solve ? ihave problem in my mobile e63 its going off every 10 minuts .

I ALSO HAVE THE NOKIA E 63 SINCE 2009. I got it from Dell.  It has worked great since 2009. ...until February 2012, when I placed a new prepaid SIM card from AT&T ... and the phenomenon that many posters here have described has occured regulary on my phone. It just kept shutting off real quick and then restarted. It was annoying because I was listing to mp3 and it would just shut off. Sometimes, this would happen 3 times within 15 minutes. It would just freeze and you could not do anything despite pressing any buttons. Then the screen would momentarily shut off ... and next the NOKIA screen pops up and followed by the handshake screen ... then finally, back to the 'desktop' screen of the phone.

 

Some posters recommend a change in the battery under the assumption that the circuits are shorting.

 

A POSSIBLE SOLUTION:

 

For the solution of my particular case, I discovered that it is actually my network settings! When I was on prepaid with T-mobile over the last 3 years, the network setting of the phone had always been GSM.   When I put the new AT&T prepaid SIM card this February 2012, the problem started occurring. I noted that the network setting is also on "Dual mode" --- that is, it alternates between 3G and GSM.

 

Thus, today Mary 11, 2012, I re-set the network setting back to GSM only. I played the same MP3 on several runs this afternoon ...and the problem has NOT occurred since!  It should have already shut off given the trends I've observed over the last 2 weeks this problem has been occurring. Usually, when I was having the problem, the shut off will occur even before a 5 minute song finishes ... but thus far it has not occurred. I have kept the music player on for a few hours and it has NOT shut off once! (At this point, it should have shut off every 5-15 minutes).

 

To do this:

Click MENU >> SETTINGS >> PHONE >>  NETWORK >> NETWORK MODE

 

From NETWORK MODE, you can select GSM.  I also did research from other posters and have learned that UMTS is the 3G.

 

Now of course, most SmartPhone users are probably on data plans that NEED 3G or 4G. If this applies to you, I don't know how to overcome that problem.  I just wanted to share this solution for my particular case ... and it has definitely worked!  I did not have to do any reboot,  nor a complete re-install, nor putting the phone back to original factory settings.  I also did not take this phone back to a Nokia store for repair, nor buy a new battery. If this problem were to continue, I was willing to just buy a new phone.

 

Hope this solution might help for someone.

But technically, you could just change back the network mode settings, if the possible solution above does not do anything.
