Folks
i have had multiple n series devices [ n70,70m,73,95-8GB,96,n79] and e-series devices[61,62,61i,71 and e90]
i currently have a n79 and e90 for personal and offical use respectively
e90 primarily used for BB Connect, calls and the occassional pics and other data usage [GMail, Facebook, Fring etc.,]
n79 to keep in touch with personal friends - calls, texts, pics, music and the likes
Now im tired of the e90s weight and bulk so thinking of moving to a BB Curve 8900 while retaining the n79 [cant get away from nokia ever]
once the n97 hits the market, may be move back to n97 in place of the BB [if it supports BB connect - which i think is being rumoured]
Give me an honest opinion if i can ditch the e90 - one reason why im asking is im absolutely not able to make my mind up. cant seem to shun the thought of living without a e90 but as i said im tired of the wieght and bulk.

E71. Only flaw in my opinion is the lack of Blackberry Connect support.
That may not be an issue for long:

The only thing* tempting me away from my E90 is the fact that bluetooth is broken since the last firmware update. Otherwise, its mine to keep 'til it dies.
I've recently been installing silly applications to see what the E90 can do, the fact it can run Quake III Arena happily and very playable, for instance, makes me question what specs do I really need?
*although I must admit, the N97 is tempting also, but not entirely convinced!

I bought the E71 to replace a Motorola Q9h and am somewhat disappointed in it, especially from a "business" aspect. The E71 email functions are somewhat lacking unless you Nokia Messaging, and still somewhat lacking in comparison to the Q9H (unable to access subfolders, only in messaging can you start typing the name for address, email is not well integrated with other messaging functions), calendar is harder to use, (unable to link contacts to calendar items). E71 is unable to natively open WMV files. Camera is very disappointing for the megapixel's (color and focus off).
But the E71 is a good phone (sound and signal strength), size and feel are very good, wifi integration is excellent, gps fix comes easily, menu system is better. Battery life is also very good.
E71 is ok, but probably not going to stay with Nokia.

You CAN sync 4 of your folders, enter on www.email.nokia.com and will show up on the Nokia Messaging.

Hi briley,
I´ve had that happen on my E61. It can happen when the gateway is out of reach - you get a message saying the network is there and you can connect, but you can´t use it. Is the network you are testing on really public and unencrypted?
My opinion to the question this thread is about: I have an E61, don´t know any other models, but I don´t know any reason why I would need any other. There´s email support, there´s Exchange support, there are sufficient possibilities of securing the phone in case of theft or loss, there is any number of useful programs that you can install, there´s QuickOffice, there´s GoogleMaps - you do need a Bluetooth GPS receiver for that, though. There are, of course, some more advanced things like monitoring a webcam in your house or scanning barcodes that you can´t have on that one...

Hi,
just a few points I forgot to mention: The E61 has a full QWERTY keyboard which some of the newer models like E71 don´t. You can use some third-party software to put shortcuts to discretionary applications on any key you like and even to remap the hardware keys like the volume keys on the left-hand side of the phone and the "recording" key which is right above those on the phone´s side.

How does the E71 not have a QWERTY keyboard? I'm looking at mine now and I am pretty sure its a full QWERTY I mean every letter has its own button....
