We are all playing with Belle for a few days now so it'll take time before we know the actual consumption.

hi, thanks for opening this thread.

belle means beautiful in french. but apart from the network notifications swap-down feature, everything else looks UGLY.

1. settings options looks pushed above unevenly

2. email windows (main, compose ... all) look ugly

3. nokia evolve theme only available, midnight themes all gone

4. nokia evolve theme is ugly

next:

1. log app has been screwed big time, with the same bug that anna had.

2. music player app has been screwed up big time with no improvements at all.

apart from the network notifications feature, we get nice wallpapers and ringtones.

after getting frustrated, i went and bought myself a new E72 with firmware v51. it works like a breeze. if i had money, i would go get a pre-anna E7 for my nokia fossil cupboard.

As far as I upgraded my E7 yesterday I cannot tell you anything relevant about the battery yet.

But I can tell you guys, with the new Belle FW (which I am totally pleased with), the Nokia Battery Monitor is not working correctly. It is not refreshing itself, it seems it does not work in real-time. I have to restart the phone or to open manually a lot of times the app, when it gives the believable values. I am disappointed a bit, because with the previous ANNA, it worked perfectly and I liked it a lot!

(I would not like to go off-topic, like metal_might did, but in my personal opinion, the new BELLE looks nice and fresh! :]  )

who have upgraded to new os belle 3 things are imp the software is stilll in not complete finish

reading all people view i feeel i am happy i have not upgraded as i have just read battery perfoemance has gone down now it hardly last a day even u take all steps of anaaa pl advise

After updating from Anna to Belle on my N8 I have noticed that battery life is much shorter.I also noticed that back side of my phone is getting warm even if I don't charge it or use any data connection. The only way to avoid this problem is to turn mobile data off  and also wireless must be disabled. It is strange because even If I don't use any data connection ( I check in the connection mannager) phone is draining the battery. Do You have similar problem?

And here comes the question, why no Widgets to offline mode anymore?!? Battery life was terrible anyway, why remove features that extended it slightly..seriously, I'd love to see an answer from devs...

Yes, I too find it annoying that we cannot switch widgets to offline mode and that Wifi needs to be "on" all the time. Previously with Anna I can set wifi scanning off but still get connected when I browse or use app that needs internet connection as the phone will auto on the Wifi and connect to the access point that I set up according to priority.



Now this is all gone!

hey navend i have been playing with belle for almost 24 hrs now... the look is fresh and much more refined. The widgets were a little better in anna i should admit but they get the job done here. I want to clear something it does nothing to battery life.
The battery life is still the same on the same usage... rather its been good coz i have been playing with it even more. The camera seems more focused for some reason, but maybe thats a perception. I would suggest you should upgrade. But there should be some way to downgrade coz at times i miss the nagging symbian 3 lol

and yes the best thing i found so far is the notification panel its much better lets you have a better control over mobile data connections and wifi. hope this helps

Dear freind battery is not up to mark i have 2 freinds who gave me this report there is wifi isssues 90 percent people who upgraded are crying and saying wi fi is not getting connected u can read ur self the posting and also phone is getting warm so stilll lot of work to be done on bellle and if we have to get this after annna waiting 6 months i will be better at annaa atleast i have 2 days battery back up are u able to connect the wifi pl try and revert me back

hey man.... everyone body is exp different everywhere... i have downloaded 25 apps form the ovi store today over the wifi and batt life is still the same.. i cant ssay what others are going through but this is just my exp

That is a misleading information from your buddies.

You can connect to the internet perfectly with BELLE.
Although, you have to enable wifi or mobile data before, on the task bar. It means, it is not connecting automatically, if it is switched off. Now you can totally control your data usage, there will be no more connection by accident.
I am using Belle more than 24 hours, and I did not experience any heat on the back. (It happened with Anna, when I was using Joikuspot Premium for hours!) 

Don't worry, upgrade to Belle!

(But if you are not sure in yourself by upgrading, then take your phone to the next Nokia service, and ask them to upgrade your phone to you! It is free of charge, if you have a valid guarantee on it. )

hi i would like to say nokia has admiited that there is bug in wifi not getting connected to secured network i am aware of wifi connection and data switch even after that peoplle have issues with wifi and also battery is worst in belle as i did update one ofmy freind and using myself u can read all stuff what i am saying in reent posting as people cannot be wrong in posting problem they are facing

You can put 3G and/or WLAN to offline mode very easily. That is done 'Android' way by sliding your firnger from the top of the screen downwards. Via that grey coloured menu opened you can put mobile data (3G/GPRS) and/or wireless (WLAN) and/or bluetooth into offline mode. If both are offline, no internet connectivity is available for any application. That sure saves the battery. I cannot say how well this is documented. Perhaps there is a Belle PDF user guide somewhere? I haven't seen one.

Updated my E7 with latest belle, however this has now caused my battery to drop. Significantly. Things I had installed have gone, themes have gone, i've also noticed that in anna, you could click on the battery on the top right hand corner, then you get options to check the battery status, and that gives you a percentage. They have removed this from belle update.


So first I have a problem with my beloved N900 - the connector came out, they send me an E7 after much debate, then I get this problem - Not happy. I've had Nokias forever, Started with Nokia 5.1!! Please sort this out Nokia.
