last night i update my mobile firmware to 300.34.56

first i backup all my mobile stuff to the computer with Nokia PC Suite 7.1 then i do firmware update & it´s work propely i have not face any problem with the update except when i restored my backup data into mobile the contacts are gone there is no contact in my list now plz tell me how can i restore them all. thx.

If your contacts were in the phone's memory and you didn't back them up before doing the update then they're lost

Hello, i had same problem on my E71 and I had just to restore only addresbook alone from backup made by PC-suite 7.1 latest version and all was ok.Tip was received from NokiaCareEurope.

i backed up all the data from phone to memcard every thing happend fine even when i restore all the data it stored perfectly without any errors but the phone list empaty and my draft list also empaty no contacts and msgs are there, and now i am really depresed from this i really want them back but don´t know how. plz help me, thx

First reformat your phone using the *#7370# code and then try restoring again. Let us know how you get on.

thx for ur advice i did it same as u mantioned up but the contacts appears like a glimps after that nothing happend i-m still unable to finding them any other sguestion

Hmmmm! When you restore, do you get the option just to restore your contacts and nothing else? If you do then try that.

I am almost out of ideas but there is one last thing you can try. Restore using an older backup, if you have one. It may not be uptodate but it is better than nothing. If it does work than it also tells us you last backup was corrupted for some reason.

unfortunatly i havn´t any older backup except this 

but in backup log file i found this

- 167 contacts

- 5 calendar items

- 4 notes

- 77 text messages

- 1 multimedia messages

- 51 bookmarks

- 30 user files from the phone memory (0.79 MB)

what execlty the mening of this can i use this backup with another phone:?

Just Google for "Nokia Contact Transfer". Its a tiny program that will restore all your contacts from a Pc Suite backup. Also google for a program called  "Noki". This will restore anything in a Nokia backup. After I updated my phone I could not restore anything even though the log showed me that I did. I think that it is some kind of bug...Anyway...Nokia Contact Transfer will save you...If you do not find it PM me...

Nokia really needs to solve this issue this is the major fault of the PC Suite. Nokia should take an action on this issue.
