Hello,
without doing or changing anything, there appears random breathing light under the big control button on my mobile phone E71. This is not the standard alert for unread messages etc. Simply it fades in in one second and in another it fades out, without a reason.
What does it mean and what can I do about it?
Thank you!

There is a slow pulse of light under the dpad called the..... Breathing Light. It is simply there to let you know that the phone is turned on since the LCD display is turned off.
When you receive any new voicemails, messages, emails. There will be a quick flashing light under the dpad to alert you.
There is a way to turn the breathing light off if that annoys you. But by turning the breathing light off a clock will now appear on the LCD display.. again to let you know that the phone is turned on.

Thank you for the explanation.
And how can I turn it off / change it to the clock? Just in case...
Thanks!

Profiles
Normal
Select Customize
Scroll down to Breathing Light and turn it off.
Like I said. When you turn that off a clock now appears on the main screen, but the backlight will be turned off.
Some people have encountered a problem where the clock on the main screen does not update until they hit the black dpad button which brings up the big clock. But I have not encountered that problem myself so your milage may vary.

Great!
The clock is more discrete than the light, will see...
And the time is changing.
Thanks.

AT&T's E71x is apparently hamstrung by my wonderful carrier. No breathing light turn off for me. Frickin' American cell carriers!
Hey Nokia, don't let AT&T do this kind of thing anymore with your fine equipment.

I was ever so grateful to get the profile info on breathing light, but alas, regardless of where I turn it off (notification, profile) it WILL NOT GO OFF. whew. Anyone??
E71--and NOW AT&T gets smart and offers a fine Nokia phone.

nokia - can you please provide a program or update that allows owners of the at&t e71x to change from breathing light to clock? the e62 from at&t had the clock so it'd be nice if the e71 had that option as well..
thanks..

Hello guys,
It seems that there is no way to deactivate both the "breathing light" and the clock on the screen saver?
You either have Breathing light disabled and the clock displayed or viceversa: Breathing light on and blank screen saver.
Is is possible to accomplish that (deactivate both)?
If no, does anybody knows which is more memory consuming? - the breathing light or the clock.
cClock might be an alternative?
Thank you,
Marius

Sorry mate, but I think we are doing a confusion. I am not taliking about the Notification Light, but about the Breathing Light.
My problem is not that I do not know how to disable it.
I was saying in my previous post above that I have not found a way to deactivate both the breathing light AND the screen saver clock.
Basically, I would like to have a black screen saver and the Breathing light off at the same time.
Cheers,
Marius

i was looking for power saver option and in that there is a last option "Animation" and if you press option-then Preview-then it shows a digital clock towards right hand side and date at left..i really loved that but the problem is that i'm unable to select that option as when i click to set it...it gets inside of that option and there it gives me option to select flash files.
Please help me as i don't want those flash files i want that default one..is there any way to select that????

Thanks for saving my phone. I was about to open it and trying to surgically remove the LED. I am very disappointed in this hypnoses LED - I think it is some kind of brain wave programming by Nokia. I also spent some time trying to connect my phone with Linux but it seems like the phone is designed to be 100% LInux-incompatible. I think this will be my last Nokia.
