e65 questions

hey friends

I have an Australian "3" network e65.

Can anyone tell me how to sort the Contact List by First name first, then last name, rather than last name first.

thanks

Hello

From the contact list, options, settings, and change the Name display option works on my Vodafone E65.

Re: e65 questions

wow, that was so fast, I really appreciate it.

yep, found it as soon as I read your post. I hadn't realised that under contacts -> options you could scross down that far (the settings option is off the screen). I keep learning more about this phone. It's infuriating, yet I'm besotted... just like a woman...

thanks all...

Re: e65 questions

hey, since you guys are so smart... another e65 question:

how do I make the alarm louder? I have the phone ring at a decently loud level, speakers at a loud level. however the alarm is so soft I wont hear it unless I'm already up.

I can't find a setting for this anywhere. ideas?

I can't find an option for the alarm volume :smileysad: hopefully someone will be along soon with a better answer.

If all else fails you could edit the sound file on a PC to up the levels!!

Re: e65 questions

The way I made the alarm louder was to use a different tone. I use an mp3 song and that is a lot louder than the default tone.

Re: e65 questions

anyone want to host an mp3 that would make a good alarm?

something like loud drums, followed by a deep voice booming "hey you, wake up already. you know you hate being late. yes, your bed is nice and warm and Melbourne is cold, but surely you want to get up and have a cold shower in a freezing bathroom and face your annoying clients. you know what, stay in bed..."

actually just an mp3 of drums will be fine...

clubbed to death by rob.d from the matrix soundtrack. soft and gentle to rouse you at first, then it starts REALLY going to wake you up proper.

Re: e65 questions

How do I change the sound used in the alarm? IE. how do I add a custom sound? I've got a song transfered using nokia pc suite to my memory card on my E65 but how do I configure the alarm to use that song? Do I need to install a third party alarm clock or what?

Re: e65 questions

Try Office > Clock > Options > Settings > Clock Alarm Tone

From here I can select ring tones, music, etc.

Re: e65 questions

That would be a good place to find my transfered song, but alas! It is not listed there! I used the Transfer music feature in the pc suite, never got any questions regarding where to put the song. I had to use the file manager under Office to find it in order to test it.

Re: e65 questions

Have you tried going to the music player and rebuilding the library?

Re: e65 questions

Yes I've updated it several times!

The really sinister thing about it is the fact that my own recordings show as possible alarms! I suppose I could sing a song and have it played to wake me up in the morning, though that would really ruin my morning... :-)

Re: e65 questions

Is the track you want to use on the phone or memory card?

Mine are all on the phone (still waiting for my 2GB card :smileysad:) - maybe that is the difference?

Re: e65 questions

That could be it! But where on the E65 "C:" drive do your phone store music? I've been looking in the Nokia Music Manager, appearantly it, in my case, defaults on storing music on the memory card "E:" and to be more specific "E:\Music\.."

Re: e65 questions

My tracks are stored here:

Nokia Phone Browser\Nokia E65\Phone memory\Data\Sounds

Then folder names for the artist etc.
