Read through the feedback topics and decided for yourself. Given a chance to not do the update in hindsight, I wouldn't update until most of the occuring issues are fixed.

If I knew that after the update I will have this kind o problems I would never have updated. I really would go back to Anna or better yet I think that I will give up "smartphones".
There are some huge issues, for me, with Belle regarding the calendar widget (which was supposed to be better than Anna), the lack of the widget that allowed you to see what you have missed like calls and messages, you can not check the percentage level of the battery anymore, you can not customize the equalizer settings and many more other things.
I have tried everything with the WiFi connection. Different encryption, no encryption, different passwords, to no avail. Design and building wireless networks is in my job description so I do have tried every trick in the book.

A workaround for the problem is to manually set the ip addresses on your phone
(Menu>Settings>Connectivity>Settings>Network dest.>Access Point)
Then auto search for network and select wifi, then select your network and enter your key and select "Internet".
Then in Network Destinations select internet and then select the network you just added then the menu icon at the bottom right and select advanced settings, then go into IPv4 settings and manually set your ip address...
Keep in mind that to do this, you would have to have some basic knowledge on networking. You only need to do it once for each network. Works for me, hopefully it does for all you as well
This is what I'll be doing until a proper fix komes out.

I have tried all the combinations of encryption (AES, TKIP, TKIP+AES) and security (Disabled, WPA Personal, WPA2 Personal and WEP). I can not check WPA Enterprise or Radius.
It does not work.
I can not set each and every network manually, there are reasons and very good ones.
I still can not use the packet data connection on my phone. Basically the phone I have paid a lot of money to buy is just a normal not "smart" phone. I can not check WiFi networks, I can not access remote routers, I can not check my e-mails on it and so on.
Where is the solution from Nokia?

my e7 is also suffering from this problem after belle upgrade. i cannot connect to internet. ''conn. failed'' is displayed. i tried to install 3rd party bowsers like opera mobile, ucweb. installation was sucessful but they fail to open.
however i could use my device as modem and surfed the net easily on my pc using nokia ovi suite.
belle needs lot of re-evaluation. :-(
kindly help

Had same wifi problems when updating to Belle on my E7-00. WIFI and network access crapped out completley. A reset of the phone with the *#7780# code solved the problem, and everything worked well after that. You have to re enter your wifi and email connection data after the resett, so good ideato save or note that stuff first.
Everything has been working well for a couple of days now. Don't know if that will work for other phones.

So I noticed after changing from Anna to Belle my access points had all disapeared ... check what you have listed...
Menu button / settings / connectivity /settings /network destinations ..... you will need enteries under internet and wap services to get connections to the outside world.
Before we go on you should note anna and belle are slightly different in how the work.
I think in Belle both WiFi and mobile data are off by default. Use wifi for home / pub free lan connections, mobile data for your contract data connetions.
Wifi
Place finger at top of screen and slide down, here you can turn on & off both wifi and mobile data, press wifi to turn on, wi fi will show below as listed connected or not press on it to search for or show listed/seen active connections.
I would hope at this point you see your home wifi, press on it and enter your pass key, if correct you should be good to go!
Note at the following location, Menu button / settings / connectivity /settings /network destinations/ internet your home wifi should now be listed as priority 1, you now turn wifi on & off as you use it.
Anna use to ask how you wanted to connect, it would detect your home wifi and list this as a connection choice. In Belle you have your wifi turned off ( I guess to save battery) turn it on when you want to use it then goes down the list of wifi connection setup in prority order.
For mobile data connections get your service provider (say O2) to text them to you, you can then save these in the network destinations as you see fit.
hope that helps

@spookyzeus: Could you be so kind as to read the other posts in order to check that maybe suggestions similar to yours might have been rejected as not relevant to the problem?
Thank you so very much.

Try this sollution:
First delete all internet connections from your phone.
Connect your device to your computer via mass storage, then go to the Prv (private file) and delete the 20042D1D and 101f7989 files. Safely remove your device and then reboot it.
It should then work!

YES SAME PROBLEM HERE NO WIRLESS,
now with the competition from htc and not forgetting iphone why would nokia relese new software/firmware without checking the functionality of the damm thing.
now many of us here HATE iphones otherwise like the rest of the world i would have one as well. SO NOKIA PULL YOUR SOCKS UP AND SORT OUT A PROBLEM THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER MATERIALIZED IN THE FIRST PLACE.
OR ARE WE TO DOOM NOKIA AND ALL GET AN I PHONE
COME ON SRT IT OUT FOR THE FEW DEDICATED FOLLOWERS!!!!!!!!
thank you alan

The same problem occur to me with both wireless that require authentication with login and password and wireless with WEP key
This is totally unacceptable for a vendor like Nokia and a service like wireless for a smart phone for business use!
