It just keeps hanging ! Every now and then, it just hangs. Sometimes pressing the power button brings up the menu to turn it off, sometimes nothing short of removing the battery works. 

Am I the only one having this problem?

try updating the firmware ,clear your cache in browser after every use dont have too many apps and try a reset back up your data first type in star hash 7370 hash security code is 12345 also the power button does give you options to power off and switch profiles

Tell me about it! I sure hope Nokia does somthing about this freezing other than keep telling folks to clear cache and reset, and etc. etc. This is crazy! I've never owned a phone with so many bugs. I mean, if I didn't have any memory left that would be one thing, but I do so this is unacceptable. I purchased three E72's at once for myself and two family members. My daughter has become so frustrated that she just ordered another phone with her own many even though she has had the phone less than a year. I'm constantly having to reboot this darn thing to make it work again. Mostly happens when text messaging. I never had these sort of problems with my trusty old Samsung Blackjack. I spent three times what I would have spent had I just bought another Blackjack, and for what? Please Please Nokia if you can please fix these bugs. I really want to like this phone because I don't want to have to purchase two more phones for myself and my wife.

I just tried to see if there is a new firmwire for my phone Nokia E72-2

Product Code 0591928120904c

This phone was made in China and it's telling me that this is not a valid Product Code. What gives? I currently have Firmware version 031.023 on my phone datd 31 MAR 2010 and when I go to update off the phone it's saying this is the most recent version. Is that correct?

The Custom version is 031.023.244.02 whatever that means.

I bought e72 instead of iphone due to FM radio.

But the FM radio is so buggy its useless impossible to use.

My E72 freezes about 2/3 times a week, I have to reboot - and then my emails start working again.

Hi, mine too... it just freezes. 

My guess is that the problem arises from the clock or the time setting... in my handset the clock disappears and does not display just before the phone freezes. Sometimes it comes back and the handset returns to normal (have to wait for that to happen).

I upgraded to the new firmware (052.005) version today and now it is even worse, I haven´t been able to get the phone to work normally after upgrading to the new firmware version... will keep trying.

Nokia's OS seems to reaching it limit... they should switch to Android!

Another thread suggested the RDS (Radio Data System) component of the Radio app is to blame.  I can't duplicate this so far, but check if the RDS flag is highlighted when you use the radio.  (You may see song title text or other radio station info. too.)  If it crashes shortly aftwards, then change to a station that doesn't use RDS and see if it crashes again.  If not, we haven't solved the problem yet, but have severely narrowed it down.

There's currently no way to turn off RDS.

I have an E73 (nearly the same as the E72), and have found it to be mostly stable.  But then I don't use SMS or email heavily, so other E73 owners may disagree.

If your phone is crashing/locking up on its own, it's likely because of some background process.  Think about what it's doing, like checking email, or other programs that access the Internet or do something automatically.  If you want to know why your phone crashes, I think the only thing to do is back it up, wipe it completely, and then over the course of a week or more, re-add an email account every day or two, reinstall a third party program ever day or two, etc., and hopefully you will catch what is causing the problem.

Before you do this, removing unnecessary third party programs, and deleting excess email and text messages might be a good first step.

hello .. I spent exactly the same. with the same phone E72-2 .. probe by removing the Micro SD and restart it without putting it and solved the problem .. Then I left the update after update 052 and I did a hard reset and everything right. methylated and the micro SD and everything works fine .. one thing that I considered it to be was having installed Apps without the cel crack Crac .. k

Nokia also communicate with me and told me I had to take a service call. I'm from Venezuela, and buy the cel on Ebay. that being so I do not buy the warranty covered it
