What is Nokia's problem with 0567385?

[ Edited ]

The new E71 firmware is available for almost all of the EMEA codes. However the update is not available for: 0567385, which happens to be mine. And my code is also EMEA and unlocked. I hope it is just an honest mistake on part of the guy(s) who is (are) responsible for updating the NSU database.

Being an unlocked phone, even a 'never locked' one, makes no difference to whether your phone is generic or network-variant, for example, if you are in a country wwhere the O2 network exists, their model of phone is often almost identical to generic Nokia but it is still their customised version which O2 needs to approve.

It is also possible that other factors at work. Does The Carphone Warehouse (sometimes called The Phone House) operate in your country? They often have their own software variant too.

Unfortunately, Nokia does not publish update schedules, so we have no way to tell you when it will be available to your phone - you just need to keep trying.

I agree with above and also add that some generic codes for region specific models can be a bit behind the other generic codes.

For example v20 was released for the 5800xm in early February but nokia UK still haven't made it available for all of the UK specific product codes.  The same thing has happened in the UK with several other models without explanation.

Well it is comforting to hear that similar things happened elsewhere. I just called the Nokia Call center and got my imei checked to see if my phone was smuggled or something. They said the same thing.

Well, I will just sit and wait I guess. :smileysad:
