My theory of the power life issue is related to the wifi. Here is what I have experienced:
When I got the phone, I had power for approx 4 days - even with BT on. First time I connected to wifi things got very wrong. Suddenly I only got power for about 8 hours - even if I turned off the wifi (network scan, deleted access points, ad hoc instead of infrastructure setting etc).
I then "flashed" the phone and started all over. Again the power was all right until I switched on the wifi. Again I tried to turn off all the wifi with no result:-(
My theory is, that when you first have turned on the wifi - "something" is running in the background that you are not able to control.

On my old E75 (and all Nokia devices) I always change the WiFi TX power level to 4mW or 10mW. The default is a massive 100mW. Personally I can't tell the difference between speed and range (though I am sure it will be affected somewhat), but if you use WiFi frequently and is always in good range of a access point, then change the TX level. I first found out about this trick with the notoriously poor battery N80 and after I applied the standby time went from one day to three days!
I also turn off 3G in favour of GSM only. This is because in the UK, HSDPA network is painfully slow. Not worth burning up the battery running on UMTS if the network is capping speed at only a slightly faster bandwidth than GPRS. also In areas with low 3G coverage, the phone will always try to search for a 3G signal which could lead to reduced battery life.

AFAIK, Nokia S60 devices does not completely disable WiFi. It checks at intervals for Access Points to make it quicker to connect to.
You can disable radio measurements if you do not require it to constantly search for other APs.

Sounds what I am looking for. Where do disable radio messurements? Cannot find that setting anywhere.

Thanks, but I think we must have two different phones or OS. I don't have the Wireless LAN options under "Connection". And the option is not avaliable under the Conn.mrg ![]()

Recently brought E75 a brand new unit made in Finland does not give the battary life more that 2 days, but the old phone I used nokia 5700 has given me 3 to 4 days battery life with use of music player as u r will. Why is this? Can NOKIA take up this issue and give a remady at least for the future uses or an Alternative battery model.
I am a very keen user of nokia and I had all generations of nokia starting analoge phones to phones today. please do not let the friendly use of Nokia.

Hi
Got an E75 myself and the battery lasts a couple of days as long as I don't use it. Did notice that it burns the battery when I use applications, wifi, bluetooth... etc.
I would suggest the following: switch off all sensors, bluetooth, wifi and applications, unless you use them. You will be surprised how much power is zapped by thing running in the background.
Hope this Helps

The problem is that when you use wifi for the first time "something" happens. My theory is that you cannot turn it off. After first time use of wifi - the power consument will stay very high. It seems that the "power safe" profile helps. But the standby time of the phone it is bad - as the many comments in this forum also indicates.

if u have battery saving problems, pl go to OVI and install nokia energy profiler and thenswitch on to battery saving mode in the prifile. U will save lots of power and increase the battery life .
Pl try this.

Eventually I got a tip that may help. Just switch off the phone and charge it in full.
Also, disable automatic retrieval in NM.
Now the batterylife is extended up to 2-3 days with a normal usage on weekend and for the whole day in labour days with business use
.
