Is there an easier way of entering mobile phone numbers for texting folks who are not in your contacts list?  At the minute I have to press and hold down the number key to make an entry, there must be a better way!

Hi,

Yes, there is.

Simply press the key in the left bottom corner (below the 'Z' key) twice in quick succession. On the top right corner of your screen, to the left of the battery indicator, you'll see a symbol that looks like a triangle. Now you can enter numbers directly. 

Press it again to get back to letter mode.
