Swedish letter 'Å' is hidden behind P on E71

[ Edited ]
Why is the letter 'Å' hidden behind the P-button on the E71, while the @-sign has its own key? I use the alphabet a lot more than special characters. What was the reasoning behind this and can I fix it?

Currently my typing speed will be greatly impaired by having to press FN+P each time I want the letter 'Å'.

I am used to the keyboard on E61, where 'Å' has its own key, and having the full alphabet has been previously been one of the main advantages of the E-series. Why take two steps back in a new model?

Swedish Facebook-group about the problem: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=33962767810

Do u lose that much speed by just holding down P to get the Å. I didnt find that big of a problem.

And what are the hopes of the facebook group? That Nokia will take back all phones and change the keyboard for us? Quess we just have to live with it...

They just said: "That's the way it is. That's how they decided to solve it." What we in Sweden call a "nödlösning" - i.e. a solution brought about that is not optimal but because of outside pressure (usually time) we had to have it like that. No one could explain why the @-sign had priority over the alphabet. The guy I talked to (I was redirected to a technician) recommended me to take a look at E66 instead.

I just found out about the "holding down" possibility. The people in support didn't know about that. I don't have one yet but it seems like a sad interface solution anyhow. The Facebook group is just for laughs :smileywink:

It's there because that approximates the position of the å key on a normal swedish keyboard. And if you use the automatic text completion/correction feature, you can skip holding the lower left key; it'll replace p with å to reach a real word. Not quite what you're requesting, but might be better than holding.
